One final workout this morning in The Den 2.0 we have set up at @tacopaulo s. Our stay home order starts today at 5 and last until Apr17. Which is perfect timing since that was the time I was looking to start a new program. So I’ll spend the next 3 weeks working out here with my concept rower, a few KBs and hitting the trails with my bike. I also have my SSB with me so I could do lunges, good mornings, and any other fuckery I can come up with. Just need to find a way to rack/unrack it. @tacopaulo will be on his own with my rack and weights making all the gains in the meantime.

One final flex Friday shot before I hang it up for a few weeks

Haven’t been on the scale in a while. I was planning on getting a morning weigh-in tomorrow to see what happens over the “stay home order”. I’ve been contemplating taking a break from the macro tracking too for a little mini bulk, mainly because my mother in law has been cooking some bomb looking meals lately and my chicken and veggies is getting old. We still have about 4 weeks left here before we finally get to our new house :pout:

Lucky man. I’ve been looking for any semi-local places I can buy a cheap weight bench & dumbbells. So far I’ve found a whole lot of nothing. People in the area are putting up want ads on Craigslist. I may be limited to pushups etc. o_O

Except for the curl bar I have. I do curls, bent-over rows, overhead press, shoulder shrugs, & forearm curls

The small gym I got a membership at is considering renting equipment out. I’m just going to try and get a barbell and some 45’s If I can and maybe 35lb dumb bells.

may be something to look into if you have any near you

My gym is now renting equipment as well. Luckily I got everything I did before they officially started so I got mine for freeeeeeeee.

Did incline bench and chest stuff today. Nutritionist has me down to 286lb and still dropping. Still hitting PRs though so I'm happy.

Hit some moderately heavy conventional DLs today PAIN FREE!!! Wooo!

sumo still creates a little pain in the quad, but it’s getting better.

We had the first confirmed case of the virus in my county today. Hit pretty close to home, as it is my pastor’s wife. She’s a nurse in a neighboring county where there are several cases. Fortunately, she knew she was pretty high risk, so she has been self quarantining ever since she’s been working with the patients.

Is the nutritionist worth it? I been thinking after all this to do like you and @rngr did and get someone to put me on the right track to learn and then go on my own after a couple months

Before I hired one, I had no clue what to do. Now I do. To me, knowledge is invaluable. 10/10 do recommend.

having said that... there is no magic voodoo they are going to teach you. All of the info is out here on the interwebs, if you’re willing sort through and find it. You could probably get pretty solid advice from the collective here in this thread. Just comes down to preference.

    This.

However... Personally when it's something new that I don't understand, I want someone who is knowledgeable and has proven their experience to direct me. I can look up stuff all day but I never feel like I'm doing it right lol

Plus paying someone to design my meals and tell me exactly what to do keeps me on the path to far better than on my own.

My diet guy back in the day was great; an accountability mechanism as well as an impartial set of eyes...when you are recompositioning it can be hard to stay objective especially as you get very lean or are trying to bulk without getting too fat.

I’d never pay for nutrition advice. There’s enough online and I’ve learned enough to get me where I am. I’d rather invest my money in someone to cook and prepare what I need to eat. That would add value to my life, but those are just pipe dreams :pout:

    Agree.

Granted, when I first started I wish I had someone just for the simple fact I didn't research at all. If I ever compete I'd want a coach who does nutrition... Know when to add or pull carbs fats etc would be invaluable to me... Or when to add a cheat meal, etc etc.

For what the average person does now, meh. Agree plenty of info online.
