Yep! My nutritionist is a 231 pro. I also live within 30 minutes of arguably the best 231 pro in Strongman, Anthony Fuhrman. Terry Rady is also right down the road. I'm supposed to do some training with him when the gyms are back to normal. Terry is nuts, he hit something like a 400lb log press at under 231 bodyweight and deadlifts 750 at u90kg. He has won u90kg WSM two or three times I think

I’d like to try out one of those bars. Ontop of squatting just not feeling right my shoulder I had worked on starts to hurt under a lot of weight. If I could grab the bar in front of me that would be perfect

I had right shoulder impingement 2 years ago that I self rehab with broomstick exercises that finally fixed it. I couldn't bb bench past 135lbs or db press even 60lbs. It was depressing since I was bench pressing up to 120lb dbs. Still not quite there yet but not having anymore shoulder pain. I couldn't hold a bb for squats and stuck with leg press due to shoulder pain. The SSB eliminates any pain or stress that I would feel in my upper back or shoulders. I highly recommend looking into it.

Anthony is friends with the powerlifting gym owner here in Raleigh (Spider Strength). He’s a strongman too. They go head to head a lot at their comps. James Deffinbaugh.

Yep! Those top 231 guys are really heavyweights who just cut down to that MW class. They are strong as fuck.

Anthony somehow talked Dione Masters into giving him an invite to some of the Arnold’s qualifiers with the open class pros.. he didn’t make it past the first event and blamed it on his bad knee. If he can ever rehab it, it’d be interesting to see if he can hang with them. Terry and Dione don’t get along at all so he has went about as far in the sport as possible unless he does some serious ass kissing.

I've heard that. Terry is definitely a hot head and comes across as a big douche sometimes, but there is no denying he's strong and a great coach. He mentioned something about pretty much being "currently semi-retired".

I’ve dislocated my shoulder twice. Once as a young kid and once in a car accident. Fucked up my rotator cuff up so I had to have it tightened surgically and repaired.
I’m fine with all movements but grabbing behind me lol.

Maybe I can bug the gym manager to get one lol

So my normal gym is resuming open gym operations Monday, but not sure what the hours will be yet. I'm not sure how much more I can take of lifting at the YMCA... I'm glad I have somewhere to go, but the people here are just terrible.

Ours is finally open 5 days a week, 4 am-1, then 3pm-10. Closing for 2 hours to clean. For some reason they still haven’t opened on the weekends

Almost time to replace my versa straps after 5 years. Thinking about picking up another set but they’re $60. Anyone else have a favorite set of straps they use? Was looking at the pioneer leather ones but I’ve grown used to the quick wrap that the versa wraps provide and am hesitant to go back to the old school style.

Never used versa. I do love my pliable traditional leather.. they are suede and will probably break on me.

I use a cheap set of Rip Toned straps that I got off Amazon... They are comfy and haven't failed me up to 700lbs so I'm happy.

Same, I remember them being a lot cheaper when I first bought them though. Not a huge difference but still. The Velcro’s finally worn out on them.

All of the cheap nylon wraps my buddy or ive used have ripped at some point and we’re not even lifting nearly as much.

60 bucks or so on Amazon. Certainly not cheap, but I use them 2x a week for over 3 years now. Still in great shape. Well, you know how awesome they are :)

Guess I'm lucky. I don't use these in competition though, I use my longer Cerberus straps

Straps and wraps are different. Thought y’all were discussing straps bc you have lady hands and can’t grip a bar. Wraps are for stabilization and don’t actually aid in the lift. Just like a belt...
