Thats a sub 7 mile time. Pretty impressive.

A race time predictor puts my mile time around 7:15. I think the fastest I’ve done is 6:58 or something around there.

What do your interval workouts look like?

I was doing .5 warmup at a 8min pace. Then 6 400m repeats at 1:20-1:30 a lap with a 1:30minute walk in between. Then some 100m sprints and shuttle runs and a .25m cool down.

Was about 40minutes of sucking wind.

Update from the week. Pretty damn tired. I put in nearly 60 hours with work and still managed 5 days at the gym. Sunday-Thursday. I took yesterday off since I worked 15 hours.

I wasn't incredibly hungry like I normally am, however I was fucking tired. I didn't get to the gym until about 730-8p each day and normally I'm there at 6p. Maybe this contributed to my low energy. Pumps were crap at best. I was not feeling bloated at all and I felt nimble, but man I was flat.

I did a sushi refeed Wednesday. Consumed probs 200c in that refeed meal. Maybe hit 300c that day. I enjoyed my food, I just didn't have the energy. Can't really pin point what it was, but I know the pumps were minimal and that's what I need to try and get back.

I'm going to add back in some carbs in my preworkout meal again and see what it does. Back to 175g carbs this week. Going to keep my refeed meal too.

Fun fact... When I was a much leaner man in the military, I ran my 1.5 mile in 8:28.... Now I would probably die if someone asked me to run 300ft lmao

    Sounds like it.

I’m just starting to add some intensity work in but I do most of my repeats at 5k pace which is like 7:20ish pace. But my repeats are like 12-8 of 400-1200m. Its more teaching you to keep pace while tired AF.

Sounds like you were my type back in the day.

    Sure was ;)

Though I fucking hated running. Only reason I was quick was because I wanted to get it over with asap.

8 miles this morning. 9:15 pace.

I have 12 scheduled for tomorrow but I’m thinking I’m going to do a 13.1 and try to push it as a tempo run and see how I do. It won’t be a time trial but it will give me an idea of where my marathon pace sits.

No surprise he took pro. Congrats to him, well deserved and worked for. However, those top pros at NY last night were in much better position than Nick.

He has much to go. He's not all that massive either, he's very weight competitive with the majority. He's also young, so that has both its con and pro. No doubt he will go places, but I don't see it anytime soon.

4 mile run today at 8 minute pace. Did not feel great but got it done. Gunna try to run a few miles tomorrow before work, then strength train in the evening after my parents cookout.

He’s young and dedicated so it’s exciting to see what he can become as long as he doesn’t go overboard. Gotta love bodybuilding though. It’s amazing what you can turn the human body into.

Also got a workout in with a buddy tonight. Used to hate being a naturally heavy dude but after watching him struggle with being a naturally lean type.... definitely would rather have the struggle of losing weight and atleast having mass than to not be able to put on mass easily.

I used to feel the same but overtime have honestly come to believe that there are no “hardgainers”.

Some people just like to eat and others don’t. It really ends up being all of us have to be intentional about what we eat and how we train to get anywhere.

I never in my life thought eating enough would be as hard as I do now. Especially because I feel I’m a person that gets fat easily lol.
