How long did it take you to get to the level you’re at now?

Lmao I've barely been doing this a year. First novice comp was three people in August 2019 which I won. First real open comp was Jan of this year that I won and qualified for nationals with.

I wouldn't say I'm on any level over what a normal amateur heavyweight is.

Sounds like you moved up pretty fast for only a year.

Nah I'm just good at medleys and carry events. Static lifts I'm not on par with the big boys yet.

Was able to sleep last night without any night terrors.

Starting to feel like a normal person. DOMS almost all gone :D.

I’m happy for modern day social media. I was able to use the race results to creep on some people’s Strava.
The map of my run looks nothing like the course map. But other folks who did the race have a map that looks exactly like mine and a course length of just shy of 35 miles.

Glad I wasn’t alone and its pretty clear the trail markings were fucked up.

I normally like getting more for my money, but not on race day.

Straighten your arms and pop your hips up

    https://youtu.be/kI66IaXVbhM

This was the first time I ever touched stones so not perfect. But it's pretty good for showing form.

Notice how I basically put my chest down on the stone, not pull the stone to my chest. I bear hug it, then my hips/butt shoot up, and then the stone comes up straight to my lap. Focus on hugging it and really getting your fingers underneath it and spreading them out. More contact on the stone means more grip and control.

Not going to lie, I was watching hoping for the stone to slip and you to stand up into the platform. Not personal, I just thought it'd be funny. :D
