I train grip specifically once a week by doing plate pinches or something along those lines.

But farmers is also grip, and I'll hold for a 10 count at the end of the run. I also do double overhand grip on deadlift warmups up to around 450-500 before I put straps on for heavy sets.

I'll train grip more if the comp has a grip event. Also sand your calluses down to smooth them.

lol I like his "bro Jeff" videos

I'm thinking about getting his hypertrophy fundamentals program. I really enjoyed Wendler back in the day when I did it and I'd like to do that program again, but since I'm struggling to get my deadlift and squat strength back I'm not sure that's the best program right now. I feel like I need a reset program to build some base strength before doing back to a powerlifting program.

Can't build a strong house on a weak foundation.

Let them heal and be a full callus before you sand them.

No deadlift tomorrow and no rows/overhead pressing for 2-3 weeks...

Preliminary results is a major rhomboid strain. Going Monday for physical exam and imaging.

    Fuck me.

30 minute walk on the TM today while enjoying a nice coconut porter.

This is how you use a TM properly @Travish325

I don’t train grip unless there is a grip event coming up in comp.
I deadlift hook grip so that doesn’t count as grip training, I do do all my accessory work without straps unless I am in a hypertrophy phase where I will use straps for rows or pull downs to bring more muscle connection.
Farmers, double overhand axle DL, anything like sled pulls or truck pull were the rope is significantly large will all be good.

do you have a grip event in your comp?

Dude fuck. I’m sorry. What causes that? Atleast it’s only 2-3 weeks. Kinda a bright side. Ish.

Idk. I know what caused it in my case was doing 90% 1rm viper press that ended up being a strict press cause I messed the timing up.

Usually rhomboid is very very strong and doesn't strain easy. But I have been doing a shit load of rows and two log press days a week plus overhead medley training.

It's bad though. The pain from the spasm took me to the floor last night and I've been icing, heating, and foam rolling all day. I can't do anything but lay flat or it triggers that pain. I've never felt anything like it before

And it's 2-3 weeks minimum unless it's something like a tear. I'm just pissed. I hate pauses in training and I want to keep powering through it.

My only “grip event” is a strapless frame carry so I’m using straps now to get used to the weight but gotta start working on the grip strength to handle it.

Hope it gets sorted out quick, since it's 'around' the neck area. Just seeing the prolonging effect with Lee Priest is scary as hell !
