    Tried to go for a run this morning. Felt the bursitis kicking in about a half a mile in so just walked instead. Was a bummer because it was feeling good to run again.

    This afternoon is upper body lift day.

    Little corgi finally arrive at 5am. 23” long too which is almost taller than me already.

    Diagnosis is micro tearing in my rhomboid. Not as bad as it could be but it is super inflamed which is causing the pain and spasm.

    I got an anti-inflammatory shot and scripts for relaxers, topical anti-inflammatory, and anti-inflammatory pills. Dr said in a perfect world 6 weeks off completely to rest it is optimum; however, full rest for a few weeks and training around it, then adding back in pressing once the inflammation is down shouldn't tear it any further, but it will slow down healing.

    First day back at the gym since race day.

    Started off with bench, OHP, then rows. Did all at my prerace weight, all was well.

    Moved to arnold press and DB press. Last set of my DB press body started kicking back. I made it through 3 sets of lighter lat pull downs before my body had it.

    I’ve eaten dinner and I’m ready for bed.


    Not bad energy levels for 9 days post race.


    Rest day tomorrow.

    Had an informal rugby get together on saturday and realized how much I missed being athletic and being athletic with other people. Did fitness 50m run, 10 burpees, 20 pushup, 30 tuck crunches, 40 lunges (20ea leg), 50 air squats, then a 50m run to finish it off. That was a jolt to my system. Which I'm so happy I got.

    That jolt pushed me back into the gym today for the first time in too many months. I resisted the urge to play Aerosmith's "back in the saddle" but there's still time. The freaking gym didnt have a way to do pull ups so I settled and substituted with lat pulldowns.

    3RFT:
    20 tuck crunches
    10 DB z-presses
    5 lat pulldowns stack at 2/3rd BW
    10 DB deadlift/good mornings
    10 zottman curls
    20 calf raises holding DBs
