good insight, yeah I was basing more off of metabolism since ectomorphs usually have fast metabolisms they would need to be in a caloric surplus I was wondering what they ate in a daily basis.

ive been on and off and have gained a few muscle throughout my life but every time I hit my peak point where I up my workouts and still no results. When I first started I weighed 120 lb at 5’11” and currently at 149 lb ( morning weight.)

goal is to gain 50 all muscle in 3 years

Count and weigh everything, you aren’t eating near what you think. I’m 6’0 175 and just bumped from 3300 calories a day to 3800 because I’ve been the same weight for 3 weeks.

Excess calories is the only way you’ll gain weight. Whether that’s by burning less, or consuming more. General rule of thumb is you can maintain a pretty lean gain at a pound a week, but you’ll put on some fat. Especially if you try to put on 50 pounds in one go. Your best bet is going to be to bulk, then maintain for a few months and attempt to shed some fat before diving back off in it. It’s going to take you a few years to put on that kind of weight and not look like shit. Be patient and don’t push it.

    What he said.
Also, how old are you? If you are much older than 20 then 50lbs in 3 years might be ambitious. Not saying don’t try but that is a shit tonne of weight to put on, especially if it’s muscle. And don’t take gear until you have been eating and training like a madman for a long time.

The best advice is to fall in love with the process. That’s what will get you where you’re going; focus on that and the rest will be way easier. Except eating for size, that suuuuucccks lol

You can gain 50lbs in 3 years but no way 50lbs in lean muscle.... It's not happening to you, me, or a genetic freak on a 3 year steroid cycle lol

First, do yourself a favor and be realistic about your goals. You are gonna gain fat too, no way around that. Realistically you'll probably gain 25-30lbs in 3 years on a clean diet then do a cut and find maybe 10-15 was lean mass alone. Then start over from there, bulk and cut, bulk and cut etc...

Second, stop thinking somatotype body types are a real factual thing.... It's junk science. It may explain the way your body looks shape wise but that's it.

Third, go get a dexa scan done and see where you are at BF% and lean body mass wise currently. Then get it redone yearly to track real progress and reevaluate goals.

If you can't eat you DEFINITELY aren't gaining 50lbs of anything lol just remember the more weight and mass you gain the more you'll have to eat to keep growing... Your nutrition is the most important thing

Take it from someone who was worse off than you... It's a long fucking process. Lots and lots of hard days. Many fuck ups and off tracks and self doubt. Then you get a good pump one day and you feel good again for a minute. Then repeat.... Until you're there.

Took me 8 years to get where I am, and I'd say I put on a solid 60 pounds of muscle in the time. It's been abusive too. I don't fuck around. Muscle is a true accomplishment no matter how it was achieved.

SML2? I picked one of those up and couldn’t stand how unstable it was. Had to lag screw it to an Oly platform. Works until the full rack arrives!

    Yeah, SML-2.
I can get it to lift up a small amount doing kipping pull-ups. Seems stable for everything else I do.

I ordered plate holders that fit into the back base of the rig. Hoping adding the plates in that location will help stabilize it for the pull ups.
