I have a Ruger LCP for times I need a descrete carry and a Kimber 1911 for home defense and animal defense.

My dad makes fun of my “pussy” LCP. Said it won’t stop a child. But he won’t let me shoot him in the leg to prove it :notsure:

    :hattip::cheers:

I'm not kidding my friend is really waiting for the ab workout, they've been working on vacuums like @mindstar said but they're not certain it's doing much but feeling weird rn.

You got a lot of thoughts there. That's more than I've ever considered it really. In born to run the author approaches it a little bit bc you're right in ultras the gender gap closes, if not all the way, as much as it can in sports. There is also the really tough subject of intersex athletes (notably caster semenya, but probably britney griner too, though that's unconfirmed but heavily thought to be the reason she never played basketball at any worldwide level) and how to determine T levels that are acceptable for "womens" sports. I dont have the answers, I just know it's tough for/on all women.

But yeah, its helpful for me to see more and more strong women, going against the rigid image society pushes on women. I specifically follow tall (5'10" or taller) women who lift on insta, bc they are more like me and have to fight gravity that little bit more than the short women. Growing up in the 90s athletes who were also women seemed to always be treated differently, they couldn't be too ripped or manly, they had to look like swimsuit models or they werent really given the time of day. So happy that's changed a little, but I think mass exposure of women in sports still has a long way to go. But that's a whole other topic for me.

Oh no!!! How rough! I hope it heals up well and doesnt leave any lingering effects. Back/neck issues are one of my biggest fears really.

I am glad she got out there with you though. That's half the battle IMO, and once there and getting a pump on it's hard to stop. For me at least.

Yup and I fn hate it. All the resellers needs to get pinged as businesses, they have the time and availability to snap up the good deals and then the audacity to relist items for double the price. Its sickening for me to watch. Esp with the xbox series x and ps5 rn.

Scrolling insta I found the perfect forearm workout for @weldertaco

This issue is one thats really difficult for me to talk about and maintain any sense of decorum.

Men can fucking use all day long but holy shit a woman has a natural level thats just “too high” and its a an epic controversy.
How dare she!?! Shes not a real woman!

Whats sad is about 80% of the world like doesn’t even pick up on the bullshit. No one sees the blatent sexism and mistreatment of women. Even by other women [read: especially by other women].

Pre Pandemic I used to workout with a gal who did powerlifting and now is branching into physique sports. She is completing her PhD in women’s studies. I love discussing topics like this with her.

@strengthordie asked me why I wanted a female coach, and honestly I think women are tougher than men. I think they endure better and I kinda want that energy around me LOL.

Women don’t get the credit they are owed or the treatment they deserve.

Before I brought up gay culture. I think what is so odd is lesbians and gay men are treated totally different. Like radically different. The only difference is sex. And we get different hate and pressures.

There is a person I work with who is non binary gender queer and only wants to be addressed by gender neutral pronouns. Its a mental exercise working with them and its refreshing. Gender needs to stop defining people.

GF has officially tested positive for covid-19....

We had to quarantine a month or so ago waiting on her co-workers tests but we were good then, but now she's got it for sure. She's been pretty sick that last couple days but thought it was something else since she has a wet cough.

I'm doing my best to keep my distance but I think it's already too late. Fuck me, the hits just keep coming lol this comp prep is now officially a joke. Injuries, set backs, now this.... Oh well, I'm gonna focus on my abdominal exercises and rebuilding my core while I'm stuck home and take this time to rest everything else.

    No, no. 1,000 miles.
    4.4km per day ;)

And actually it's more than that since almost 6 months of this year I have been unable to run due to illness, surgery recovery, and a minor injury following a race. Not gonna lie, super proud of myself. I hope I can keep it up moving forward.

This year has been a total cluster fuck. Nothing has gone right for a lot of people.
World is in mass panic, everyone has turned into an asshole, the future is unpredictable, politics are a mess, gyms have closed, comps have been cancelled. None of it is great for ones mental health and stress level.

I hope you and your lady recover perfectly well and quickly. As much as all of this sucks, I hope it serves as a good reset button for you and 2021 is a much better year.

    I feel for you.

At the risk of butting in and giving unwanted advice here we go....during all this pandemic switch I started adding in some yoga for strength. Found a badass yoga for men series and have expanded on it. I don't do much strength work and come at this from an endurance athlete background. Swim, run, cycle, and big hiking days are my things but this yoga shit.....holy crap it's difficult. And my core has never been stronger. Burning 900kcals in 90 minutes while strengthening everything and helping mobility and flexibility? Hell yeah. Wishing y'all the best and hang in there. Take care.

I do but I started doing so well before I became an attorney that has opposing parties (and clients) that threaten me. Obviously can’t carry in the Courthouse, but otherwise, I’m “always ready” in places where I can be.

    Well what do you carry?

I think I remember you telling me that you do both criminal and civil law. Who are the crazier clients?

Custody/Divorce clients can be crazy but luckily I don’t do a whole lot of that. I would say they are the craziest.

Depends on the case, really. Most of my criminal clients know they fucked up and are just looking to minimize the damage. They know the game and aren’t really unreasonable in their expectations, especially those that have been there before.

I’ve had plenty of crazies on the civil side. It’s usually opposing parties, though. I am fortunate that I can be selective in who I take on as a client. If I smell crazy, I try to avoid it.
