I like the abiance of the gym. I need to be around others and it motivates me.

If I head home after work its too easy for me to hit the beer fridge vs actually workout.

Especially because I run in the AM so by then its like... meh thats good enough.

Jesus. That sounds like Hell on Earth. Hahahaha....how could you resist from fucking with each other constantly? This also leads to another question for the thread....does your partner/significant other/droid companion engage in your fitness regimen? Mine doesn't thankfully. I need some time to myself. Between kids and managing a restaurant I'm burned out on people by the end of the day.

My spouse lifts weights and exercises but not maybe with the intensity and commitment I have. I like my spouse to have at least a passing interest in the things I like as it expands the budget I have for those things lol

Edit to note that we do fuck with each other now and again when in the garage gym. In a public gym you wouldn’t even know we are married lol.

My wife supports it. She never complains about me going every other day. Even with a newborn.
But I’m one of those that feels weird with compliments/praises so whenever she tells me I look bigger or strong I feel awkward  she just doesn’t want me to get on TRT.

I don't mind being solitary. Just me, my weights or treadmill, my music (if I turn it on) and my thoughts. I've never been to a gym so perhaps I would find it different in a good or bad way if so.

Different people though..some buy home stuff and it's a clothes hanger, some do get motivated to use it.

Nope. I wouldn't mind if she did, and she has briefly at times but then gets all butthurt if she doesn't get instant results.

Mine is usually good about stuff I do. Our musical taste is very different..I like or at least tolerate her stuff, she can't stand my heavy metal or punk.

Actually we pretty much always want to use the TM around the same time and now we have to work around each other's schedule. Read: He has to work around my schedule, I'm a selfish prick and use it when I want.

This past year he's gotten more into running and did his first trail HM. We did a lot of running together this year which was fun. It makes it easier to spend so much time running and I don't get any guilt trips that I'm spending too much time away.

We have to travel a bit to have access to the terrain and trails needed to train for certain courses, so we will travel together, do a run, and then find a different microbrewery we haven't been to and try it out.

We are doing our next 50k together so our long runs will be together at least. I'm also now working from home with him when I wasn't before so now we are around each other 24/7. Lets see if that means we run more separately this year haha.

We go to the gym together every evening but we don't necessarily spend all that time working out together. Sometimes we do sometimes we don't.

If I'm not moving heavy weight I will have him run up behind to me and beat by chest while I bench press or while doing OHP I'll get an ass grab.

Theres that adage that when two men get together they resort back to the age they were when they first met. We met at 16 and 19 so that pretty much sums up the shenanigans that go on between us.

See that's what's odd, I enjoy running because it is solitary and I can just be alone for a few hours if I want running circles in the woods. But I don't like it with lifting.

I didn’t put much money into my home gym but got plenty to use if they decide to use some government overreach and shut everything down again. Squat rack, bench, deadlift platform, and about 570 lbs of weight. But, I’d still rather go to the gym. I don’t have motivation to lift at home. If I walk in, I’ll sit on the couch. If I sit on the couch, I’m not going to the basement to lift.

Reminds me of myself, except I long ago chose to stay a kid regardless of relationship status :)

I don't run, but I would surmise that your reason being that you set your own pace at all times in running doing it solo versus having to interact with another person?

Pace can be a factor but thats also a benefit to running with others. My buddy I run with is going for a BQ so hes fast, I like tempo workouts with him.
My husband is slower than me so long runs with him force me to slow down which I honestly need. I keep running too fast when I run on my own.

I just like the solitude and pure mental aloneness. I love running alone in the woods to bluegrass music.

My ADHD gets so bad my mind races a thousand miles a minute all the time. When I run I can actually think and concentrate like no other time. Running is like a fidget spinner.

Y'all are crazy. I love training alone, I prefer it over anything as long as I have music.

Thats because you are a bad ass thats better than everyone around you.

I like getting energy from those around me that are better than me. If I was in a gym filled with brahs like me or weaker, I’d feel.... like you in a gym LOL.

    For you I get that.

He trains at a CrossFit gym. He gets off on being the biggest dude there. Don’t let him fool you.

    Already got my stimulus money.

    Invest for future brewery?

    or

    Sinking fund for new treadmill?

    Or

Send $200 to each niece and nephew?
