I need to come back out there and make my old food stops. I miss Bambam's goldfish mac and cheese.

I’m not a big meatball sub fan. But after that first recommendation, I’ll have to try it

They have a lot more good stuff but the meatball is their famous one. Their Philly cheese steak amazing too.

Not fitness related but I know a lot of you guys have physical jobs so I'ma ask.

I need to set myself up with a short term disability plan. Anyone have an insurer they recommend or any tips for picking out such a policy?

@St. Swervus Nick Bare is now apparently going for the Leadville 100 this year.

Dang it now I have to start watching his stuff again. Although kinda already pissy he gets an entry without a qualifying race.

So if I make a few youtube vids can I get automatic entry?

He gets in with no Qualifier? Seems odd. And lame.

He said he got in via the regular lotto but who knows. Lotto was announced in Feb and it was odd how he said it.

Anywho gotta see how he does for Leadville being his first ultra. The mountains just may eat him alive.

Also fun news, one of my heel blisters is officially infected.

He'll end up killing it I bet. Just to make us all pay for our doubting ways. ;)

I'm sorry to hear about the blister. Ugh that sucks. Now what do you do with it? Slather it in ranch dressing?

He has a lot of money behind what he does in terms of coaches and crew, so that I'm sure makes a difference in his success.

    For the heel.
    Mayonaise.

    It's a natural anti-biotic apparently.

Luckily my BFF is a doc, I have a script for a nice potent topical anti-biotic. Hopefully I don't have to take any of the oral stuff and kill my poor gut bacteria.

I'm really only bummed because I wanted to get to training for the Tri and I can't get into the pool until it heals.

But I started cycling and knee is giving me issues so I have to see the surgeon to be cleared to do any more bike anyways. So Tri may be a no anyways.

Knee gave me no troubles on my recent adventures. Biking and lifting I'm having some issues, so we'll see what he says. Some sports may be behind me.

Hang in there. I know the feeling. Running is pretty much done. I've got a knee that is "fun" as well. Lots of foam rolling and lacrosse ball for me. That cycling stuff is like a Dark Art. I bought a new saddle this year and got it dialed in. It's great but now my hands are starting to go numb on my rides. Got that addressed and it's better but I rode this morning and it's still there some. Slow tweaks to try and get it set up. I'd like to push my distances out but until I get that settled I'll keep it under 40 miles a ride. And.....mayonnaise? Yikes! ;)

Yea knees are special, especially meniscus injuries. They are odd because it totally depends where the injury is (mine is behind my ACL). You have to hit it just right to get pain. Mine gets hit when my knee is bent under load (femur is at 90 degrees or greater and my ankle is level or extended). Swimming hurt like hell before surgery, lets see if it's still an issue.
I have no issues with impact, only bending under load or twisting under load (dead serious, can't dance anymore, which really is a great service to the world).

Stairs suck big time. But I can climb several thousand vertical feet up a 45 degree mountain and apparently that's cool?

But totally not going to complain if I can run and climb without issue. Not being able to lift much anymore? That one may be the heart breaker. We'll see. While I hate squats, if I'm told no more barbell squats it's still gonna be a sad day because that's a pretty key movement.

I just never, ever, ever, ever want to have knee surgery again. Shit sucked. Rotator cuff surgery was a cake walk compared to knee. So I'm going to do or not do whatever it takes to not go there again.

THIS. Lol. Me too. I routinely do 15-20 mile days with 7-8k elevation gain in the mountains no problem. The bike sometimes gets me a bit but no biggie. But going down stairs? Fuuucckkk. Gets me every time. I usually go down backwards to save my knee. It's patellar stuff for me. Brutal.

Whelp. Run today was 87F and a dew point over 70.

    It is officially treadmill season.

I want my snow capped mountains back :)

Why did I sign up for a Tri in August?
