Welp. Just got back from the docs office.

Looks like I have keloid scarring and thats causing most of my issues with feeling odd while lifting and biking.

Stairs are probably a mechanical issue where that hits right were my injury was and I’ll probably have that forever.

But the scarring is something I can push past.
If I can run ultras and climb mountains with no pain I’m perfectly fine to push on the knee.

    Time to buy a bike!

I recommend a 1980s Hutch or Schwinn freestyle bike

    Yeah no.
I’m going for a road bike, only if its under $200 since I will use it only once (I hate biking).

Well that's why I like those, it's more about the acrobatics versus just spinning your brains out on them. Besides if you don't like it you can ship it to me after..I am a collector

Bike shopping!!!! Pros Closet is a good place to look for a used bike. Demand is high right now unfortunately. Have fun though. I was just getting my bike ready for a ride tomorrow morning. Yesssss.....

I've started looking at bikes and I may use this as an excuse to walk backwards out of agreeing to do this.

I'm am not wanting to drop any real coin on a bike (I already have enough expensive hobbies) and a couple of the bike garages near me have bikes starting at $1,000. :S

Then I still have to get a pair of swim shorts, cap, goggles (which I wear glasses so how does that work, I guess I'll be blind during the swim), I know I'll get sucked into a power meter for my Coros.

and only 7 weeks left to train :goingcrazy:

Hey! If you go looking for an excuse, you will find one!

;) JK, I recall you agreed to this in a moment of "weakness".

Yeah, bikes aren't cheap. All of this reminds me of why I don't compete/race. All that pressure for the event backfires for me. I end up hating it. Or injured. I much prefer solo adventures. I like to take my bike to the pool every once in a while, swim a couple of miles, ride the bike, then run. All based out of my pool facility. It's supposed to be fun right? Not an obligation or a stressball. Do what works for you. $1000.00 is a lot of money. Take care.

Listen if I backed out on everything I agreed to when I was drunk I wouldn’t be an ultra runner... or married.

I wanna do it. This year may not be the ideal time :S.

I wanna do it at some point but if I can’t find a used bike that fits me soon I may not do it.

I do have a coworker that lives on a lake so at least I have a place to open water swim. :)

Maybe I can run the bike part, is that allowed?
