Ugh. I can't stand that feeling. So much so that I don't participate in races. I'm an outlier in that though, all my friends do and they all get nervous too. It's just a part of it I suppose for most people. For me, it takes all the fun out of it. Everyone is different. Oddly in other areas of my life such as big hikes and intense work situations I've learned how to wrap it up as part of the experience and view it as a natural thing.
A week should be plenty of time to recharge. Provided you're not WAY overextending yourself and you don't get injured you'll bounce back. Make sure you eat plenty during that week and get some solid sleep and it'll be all good. Have fun and be proud of yourself!!

I dont think i'll ever not have nerves before an event. In all the running events I've done theres just always that feeling I get LOL Even for the 5k!! Sometimes its a nice nervous energetic feeling though. I do have to say that participating in an event with people who are really into the sport changed my view of things.
I think Im overthinking the tri cause its my first and also Ive been reminding myself not to go too hard so I'll be in pretty good shape for the following week.

I stopped getting as nervous for races. I just focus on going out and doing my best.

I like organized races to be around other runners and to get the support and premarked distance.

You can always go out and have fun on your own though. In fact doing things on your own can be more enjoyable. Especially when traveling to different areas.

I know a few people that have had it twice. Some of them had way worse symptoms the second time. Some had a stuffy nose for a couple days and that was it. You still alive?

I had it the first time in December of 2019. So before shit hit the fan and anyone even knew it was a thing.

Earlier this year I tested positive for anti-bodies and then getting it again confirmed what I thought I had before was in fact Covid.

First symptoms for me were fluid in my lungs. Then later on comes the horrible fever and extreme fatigue where you can't do anything but lay on your back for a few days.

This time around it still impacted my lungs just less so. Still have fever and extreme fatigue.

This time I had severe body aches, like puking I was in to much pain bad. Luckily I had some Tramadol to help me through it. Last time it took about 6 months for the pain to go away, hopefully this time it's not as bad. I know trying to workout post covid sucked because any normal inflammation you go from working out was magnified by the virus.

The biggest thing that sucks right now... I can't taste shit. I'm so pissed. I tried some bourbon last night and I can't taste it at all. I'm kind of worried I'm going to lose my beer palate. Thats the one thing I'm really worried about.

    So less lung issues
    Worse pain
can't taste anything 2nd time around
    same otherwise

Sorry for my previous ocd comment. I hope you recover quickly & regain your sense of taste. I know your last post wasn’t a reply to me but, I do appreciate you sharing your experience. I’m just trying to get a feel for what people are experiencing from a ground level if you get me. I’m not too sure if we’re allowed to discuss this subject in here as I got scolded and blocked for a few days by a Mod in another thread on TW for general inquiries. Anyways, I appreciate your transparency and wish you a speedy recovery.
