I bought a pair about a month ago. So far I really like them! Probably will buy another pair soon

 

It took a year of training to finally get my 500+ DL PR. Felt so fcking good. 550 is the next goal. Never give up , men. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

 

Bravo, sir. Most I ever DLed was 580. I don't think I could even move 400 right now (and I'm 70 pounds heavier than when I hit that PR). I really need to get back into taking lifting seriously. Your post has inspired me!

ETA: most I ever pulled in a comp was 550. Used straps and a little bar roll on that 580.

Appreciate it man. I (try to) compete in strongman which has allll the lifts. Unfortunately my DL is grossly low for the others in my weight class so it’s been a mental block on even wanting to compete while knowing it’s shit. But all you can do Is go one step at a time until you get where you need to be.

 

Guess who's probably joining a cross fit gym?

My gym is closing at the end of the month. Moved to a smaller town with a lack of gyms. My best option for a gym with actual equipment that isn't a private gym where you have to pay for training.

It's less than a mile from my house tho.

The ankle is actually great. Played the full fall rugby season without any issues. It’s still sore randomly and I lost a little mobility but otherwise good to go.

Haven’t sued my friend. Statute of limitations hasn’t run yet though…

 

Aren’t CF gyms stupid expensive? Like $120-$200/month?

 

Wrong. You limp everyday. It makes you angry and interferes with your ability to practice law. You take a reduced case load as a result. You can't do projects around the house or help with the laundry anymore and you need your wife's help with a few ADLs.
Lets do a simple demand for $5M see if we can get this done pre-suit. Do you know if he has a PLUP?

This one is $75/mo for just open gym. Problem is I had them send me their gym schedule and open gym is like not at a time that works for me. Either super later or middle of the day.
Unlimited classes is $140/mo.

There is a gym near me that has a weight lifting gym attached to it. $140/mo with full access to like a Y center with a pool, hot tub, regular gym and cardio equipment and access to the weight lifting gym.

What makes it extra suck is I have to get two memberships, not just one. I need one for my Boo.

I’m a born and raised Texan. Never seen snow until I moved up here to Virginia. Super cool at first. By the 2nd day, I’m over it and it can all melt and go to hell it’s over rated.

 

Snow is fun when you get to do fun shit in it. If you are in an area without skiing, tubing, ice skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing its just more of a PITA.

I live right off a main road. My home office window faces it. Watched 5 cars get stuck today lol.

That was entertaining at least.

 

Been in MA all my life. Even as a kid I didn't love it..not the best bike weather. Now it's just more work for me.

 

And yet... you still live there.

They let you move other places you know. You get people to come and put all your things in a truck and they take it someplace else.
They can even put it on a boat and sent it to Hawaii. Tons of bike weather there.

 

Yup. My parents are older and still here, my only real reason to remain.

They have to hate the snow too lol
