Isn’t there regulations/recommendations from the fed tho? If so, a promoter could have a super light contest and everyone get a national invite but then a state over a promoter could have it super heavy and make it hard to get a invite. Seems… inconsistent if so.

Not that I am aware of.
Your smart promoter will look at the weights from previous years nationals, factor athlete performance and base weights off of that.
The strongest are still going to win even if the weights are “too light”.

Yeah but I guess what I meant was if there’s no “standard” to it then a competition can have a 200lb overhead, 100lb carry and 300lb deadlift. Person can get a invite where nationals will have 2.5x all those weights so the person who won a invite literally has no chance lol.

You’ve got to have a balance so new people can get into the sport as well. It’s not hard to set weights at a reasonable level. People tend to know when they have no chance at Nats, it’s up to them to figure out if they want to go.
    Top places get invites regardless.
If someone can press 200 for 10 reps, his placing isn’t going to be any different if the promoter ups the weight and he only gets 5.

True. I actually didn’t go to nats last year for that reason. I saw the DL and pressing numbers and thought no way in hell was I gonna spend all that money just to get a zero in a couple events lol.

Also. Fuck the scale. Focus on the mirror. Only 9lb difference between the two photos and gah damn do I feel so much better now even at what used to be a embarrassing number on the scale for me

    Not military.
I work in a fairly niche job. So not easy to just up and move.

Had an awesome run yesterday. Hit a new HM PR while doing my final workout for my HM coming up this next Saturday.

@DirtyTerp Did it with a fresh out of the box pair of Kinvaras. Awesome shoe. Probably going to be my new favorite Saucony.
