Well, my fitness is on hold for the time being as I ruptured both my quad tendons. Surgery went well and now I'm sitting around for 6 weeks until I can start moving/rehab.

And the story isn't any good unfortunately....lots of wear and tear, and stepping off a curb, rolling my ankle (which already has 2 ruptured tendons itself from years back) and then two loud 'pops'.

Thanks man. It's not optimal, but I'm in good spirits and have some amazing people around me.

    That sucks man, really sucks.
Glad surgery went well and you are on your way to recovery, which I hope goes by quickly for you.

My fitness is also on hold. I'm laid up in purgatory waiting to find out if I'm dealing with ruptured foot and ankle tendons and what next steps are.

Top left- 215lbs hated myself. fat fuck.
Bottom left- about 180lbs. Loved being comfortable with my shirt off but always felt kinda small. Gave up the mountain biking and jogging and picked up the heavy weights

right- about 210lbs. Almost Same as when my journey started. But solid as a rock and can lift heavy shit. Confident as can be.

For some reason my body decided to never really develop a waist but that’s okay. Bodybuilding just won’t be for me

    Wassup legends. Been awhile.

The only thing I've ever used is whey protein. Looking into trying creatine. What do you guys use, of those who use it?

I think whether or not things like Creatine or Beta Alanine are worth it, really come down to the level of lifting you do.

If you struggle with consistency and following a program, Creatine ain't going to do anything for you.

I honestly would not recommend supplementation with it until you start to reach the more intermediate level of lifting. If you are a newbie and don't have a few years of lifting behind you, probably just not worth it.

Creatine helps when you are really putting in serious effort and lifting at the upper range of RPE. It will help you get those last couple reps in and push.

But if you aren't truly lifting to a higher RPE range (Rate of Perceived Exertion) then you aren't benefiting from the supplement. And especially in today's times, why pay $30-50 a month for a supplement you really aren't reaping the benefits of?

I've lifted to various levels for the last decade. Last year was the first year I started Creatine. I was lifting heavier and doing more speed-work for my running. I saw a benefit to it, but only saw it when I'm working HARD. When my season switches to more low and low mileage on the trails and easy lifting, I stop it because it's really a waste for me at that point.

If you aren't bringing it in the gym with high intensity lifts/cardio, to me it's a waste of money.

Unless you eat just a shit load of red meat, creatine is worth it. And I mean shit load. Skip a “loading phase” and just do 5g a day and drink 1gal + of water. Protein powder is good if your diet doesn’t already contain enough protein for your goals. Bcaa’s are questionable, again dependent on diet.

This. Creatine at worst is neutral/net positive. Some people aren’t really strong responders but it WILL help everyone to some extent, plus it’s also been proven to have positive cognitive effects as well. It’s also relatively cheap and abundantly available. A no brainer supp in my book.

If you are still curious examine.com provides unbiased scientific based evaluations on pretty much any dietary supplement you can think of.

PackCon is the first person that doesn't just say "do it," but "do it only if it's right for you." Awesome. Yeah maybe I'm not there yet. My weights are slowly going up and that's why I'm considering it.

I just know there's water retention considerations. I just don't want to cause damage. There's not a possibility that it's bad for your kidneys, right?

Its not bad for you at 5g a day. You can take quite a bit without any risk of harm. Most of those claims are bullshit. Although at the same time I’m sure somewhere out there is a moron whos eaten half a tub in a sitting.

    Creatine is very safe.

Hi daddies. Sitting around 262lb right now and about to start another mini cut to around 245ish. I have my appointment for back injections tomorrow so hopefully that means heavy lifting gets to resume aoon.
