I hate when someone uses a platform that’s in front of a squat rack when there’s tons of other platforms open that don’t have squat racks.

Crazy concept. If you don’t need the rack. Let someone who needs the safety bars workout there

I can’t be the only one annoyed by this or the only one that will consciously think about that when I’m choosing which platform to use

At this point, I’m content when someone actually puts their weights away in the right spot when they’re done. That’s have low I’ve set the bar with my expectations of gym goers.

Anyone going to world’s strongest man competition in Myrtle Beach? It was awesome last year if you were lucky enough to see the events…

    Negative.

Still keeping my nose to the grindstone. I guess I just feel like there is no real reason to announce it here

What about you? Still churning out the trail running training?

I have been out of the game for a hot bit due to health issues and breaking both my feet one after the other. But I’m getting back to it and so far so good. But I havent done any continuous running yet.

Still not sure what the issue is but have numbness in my feet and pain. I basically went from hardly being able to walk to now being pain free with gabapentin.

Hubby and I did a hardcore trail run beginning of May that was basically like a 3.5 mile mudslide. Was a blast!

Not running is destroying my soul so I’m dying to get back to it. Ive been walking 15-20k steps a day with no issues :fingerscrossed:

    Same.

Ive let my job rob me of my health and sanity. Its time to take it back. My nerve pain has been better the last week while on vacation. Stress will fucking kill you I swear.

Hope you, the wife, the parents, and all the cats are doing ok.

Considering adding creatine to my supplement routine. I've read several articles and it seems like it's safe. Anyone have input on it? Side effects? What kind to get?

    Thanks

I use it and have never noticed anything negative. Due your own research though and possibly talk with your Dr. just to make sure. Random people giving you advice on the internet isn’t the best way to figure out if something is right for Your body imo. For fixing your truck & mechanical issues it’s very helpful though. :D

For me it's a way to try to keep myself honest. I tried it a couple weeks. Then fell off the radar.

    upload_2024-6-4_13-31-59.png

And fell off the health wagon.

    :help:

Back into it last week and this week though.
Accidentally ran a 5K with the dog today at lunch, after which she refused to get up off the couch

    Funny. Running destroys mine.

This was maybe 10-12 years ago now, when I was lifting.
I used it for 2-3 weeks. I got a couple bloody noses. Now, this was ALSO (I think, roughly) Feb/March in Maine, so it was wicked dry, and it might have just been bloody noses from literally cracking from dry/cold weather. I don't know. Just a data point to be aware of I guess.

Tis a game changer! Only thing id suggest is make sure you are drinking a little more than a gallon everyday.

One of the most studied supplements with plenty of good data on safety and benefits. Fairly inexpensive and the monohydrate version what you want.

New to this thread, have lost 60lbs since last September by focusing on cardio and better eating. Haven't felt this good in years. Feel free to make fun but I'm a HUGE fan of the elliptical. Mostly full body workout without the impact that running has. Also quite fond of swimming laps. Both are great no impact exercises.

Very funny watching (mainly) girls sit on the machines on their phones, or taking pictures/videos of themselves pretending to workout. Not big into weights myself but I'm sure that pisses a lot of people off.

THIS. When I was still in the game with some purpose creatine was an awesome supplement. That said, drink your water or say hello to angry joints.

Also... to the group here. I'm not new, but might as well be. Getting back into it after a LONG hiatus.

I'm going to join this thread too! Not new to weightlifting/fitness but getting back into it. Thankfully I have muscle memory but apparently my back isn't able to handle what my arms & legs can... pulled my back yesterday doing what I'd consider light weight deadlifts. Guess I gotta ease back into it.

About the creatine debate: It's a great supplement, but like stated above, drink your water! My first time I ever tried creatine, I didn't know what I was doing, took way too much and didn't drink any extra water. That was a painful mistake. Creatine makes me feel way stronger and more stable, and I can lift much more weight when taking it.

Lost 50 last year. Found 10. Lost 5. Found another 10. Back at it again, shooting for another 35 from here I think (at 200, goal of 165).

Hell yeah! :thumbsup:Definitely an ebb and flow for weight loss, my hope is that I can keep the lifestyle change and not slip back into old habits. Mainly cooking way more than going out, staying away from snacking, and going to the gym after work everyday.
