2 boys under 2 was my life lol. Ones about to be 4 and ones about to be 3 so after 4 years of non stop chaos... the light at the end of the "no sleep" tunnel is slowly growing hahaha.

Glad to hear there is light at the end of the "no sleep" tunnel. Mine actually only woke up once last night to it was a rare, restful night!

I went for a walk around Seoul in the morning and saw this bus, and thought "OHHHHH I wouldn't want to get on that wrong bus!"

No better time than when you're already in it. My niece and nephew are about 2.5 years apart. My cousin had his second when his oldest was 7. At least as long as I'm not butchering my own family tree. They got to taste not having Bluey toys everywhere, and getting sleep, and then BAM had to go back to it  at least my sister and bro-in-law were in the shit already when they had their second

    But somewhat on topic

    upload_2024-7-12_15-25-53.png

You can see where I was good, had a last minute trip to Korea in the middle there, immediately after a camping weekend. Then came back and knew I was going on vacation at the beginning of July so threw caution to the wind. Then the July vacation actually didn't do as bad - TON of walking and running so that helped I guess. And now we're back to being disciplined..... Sucks. I just want a cookie.

Props to you who can raise kids.

I can’t seem to grow up myself let alone enough to keep a child alive.

Day 1 yesterday of a modified SS progression program due to the 8 years out of the gym. Will run this for ~6 months and then go from there. Starting from the bottom with weights to work on form before getting into heavy weights. Ultimate Goal is 2/3/4 plates on bench/squat/DL.

    Stuff. Also things.
Good luck and post up your progress! Those are great goals for something like SS, and should be no problem if you stay consistent.

I’m finally getting back to a more sane pace at work, so I’m starting my own ‘modified SS’ program again. Hoping I can run it out over six months or so and get up to 2/3/4/5 for PR/BP/SQ/DL.

Earlier this year I was up to 435 on DL for a set of 5, but work got really crazy (layoffs, restructuring, then two new dev programs on hyper aggressive schedules). Two months later with no lifting and I’m a sloppy mess

Time to get back on track and be more intentional about doing purposeful conditioning from the start as well. With MTB and a rower, there’s no excuse.

I agree on the conditioning as I have a concept2 rower as well as a plyo box and speed rope.

The plan is to move to heavier weights and lower reps after I’ve built myself back up after 6 months or so. For now it is form and just get back into a consistent weightlifting routine again. Tired of being a lazy shit.

Plan on grabbing a bench and some cables for the house. Main workouts are at the local gym, work = free membership, but don’t always have time or weather to make it.

Any input on bench vs. bench and cable vs. cable. I’m sure either will be fine and the spread is less than 500, just wondering if y’all have some insights to inform the order.

Had a knee flare up and haven’t had an injection for pain in a while so lower body strength has dipped. But I’m still able to jog/run 10 miles a shift at work. Upper body strength is 90% of what it was when I was 188 on January 1.
    I’m 150-51 dry weight now.

got my muscle ups back

I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t feel good having visible abs 75% of the day.

I've recently returned to my workout routine. Need to lose some weight to manage my health condition, so I can't put exercise aside any longer. Currently, I'm working out at home, but maybe going to the gym would be a better choice for me as it is easy to miss a training being at home. In addition, I talked to a doctor and decided to buy Wegovy online and give it a try. I hope it will help me speed up the process. Well, time will show. At least, I already started.

One is free weights and less expensive.

The other is more expensive, takes more room, and uses cables attached to weights.

Both require good form and the appropriate weight selected to achieve one’s goals without injury.

The New Arcadia Max look perfect for the garage but unfortunately won’t fit my low ceiling basement.

Going with the Arcadia and Blackwing on the 1st, thanks! :)

I would like to have a good set of dumbbells and cables. Cables create more back and tricep options.

I just bought an elliptical unfortunately. Waiting for it to be delivered hopefully next week.
My treadmill is almost collecting dust which is heart breaking. I haven't run in a little over a year due to a still undiagnosed neurological condition. Walking distances depending on the day isn't an option. Hopefully the elliptical will help me get back to being more active without pain.

Weightlifting is helping a lot. Especially leg work.

It's so hard to show up everyday and workout doing what you can do when you just get mad over what you can't do. But I'm trying to suck it up and keep moving.

Also having a hot tub delivered today :) That should be good for the DOMS.
