Only use supps when I need extra protein, some carbs I can drink throughout the day or the pre workout shit when I'm gonna be lifting heavy. For cardio, endurance or other such things, I leave the crazy supps out, just makes you breathe harder...as for prohormones, never gonna touch that shit.

I've been doing pullups with a 40lb weighted vest every morning for the last month or so...and I'm still only up to 20.

On another note (this may not be much to some of you guys, but hell it's news for me) I finally benched 225 5x yesterday. First time putting that weight up. (If you're wondering why I was able to do it 5x from not being able to do it at all, I switched to dumbbell presses for a while, and yesterday was the first time jumping back on the bench since.)

I'm about 5'10, 150lbs. I'm hoping to bench double my weight in the next few years

thats really good for your weight dude.

great job! dumb bell presses are good cause they use other smaller muscles to keep the weight steady. with bench you do that too but not like with the DB press

Thanks! Yeah, I love dumbbell presses. I get a nice stretch at the bottom of the motion

It doesn't work that way. Same thing with bench press or dips or push ups or anything. Muscles fatigue, even the best guys in crossfit, they can't do 365 pull ups in a set.

If you tried doing a pull up with one pound and added a pound, you may be able to lift your weight plus 365 lbs in a year....but I doubt that too even.

If you have done this and can prove me wrong by posting a video of you doing a 365 pull up set, please feel free.

What's weird is I can dumbbell press 95 5x pretty good (approx 190 lbs total) but I can only bench 225 5x. Shouldn't I be benching more, considering my dumbbell press?

I've been weight lifting steady for 1.5 years. Last 6 months has been

    back/bis
    shoulders
    day off
    legs
    chest/tri's
    2 days off

-begin with abs all 4 days and end with 25 mins on fat burn eliptical

My workout sets typically consist of 6-10 reps, genearrlly to failure. My goal is lean muscle gains and fat loss. I dropped in weight from 198 to 170 and have gotten stronger and definitely more muscle tone. I don't eat any sweets and use Muscle Milk Protein powder. I can't lose the layer of fat on my torso and legs to a lesser extent- what am I doing wrong? BTW, I'm 42 y/o 5'7. Any legal supplements that could help me achieve my goals?

The fat burn/cardio you do (elliptical) targets mainly your lower body. You'll still lose fat in other areas, albiet rather slowly. Maybe try some high-rep very low weight upper body stuff. P90X does a good job of doing this
