    Sounds good

Yea it is the road that you are talking about. if you open the press release it tells you it's just outside of lakeside. But if you look at the pics of some of the obsticals i think some people don't want to do that crazy stuff with their trucks stock.

The 12th. and 13th. sounds pretty Good. I would suggest a Meet and Greet at a Pub or Coffee House. Where we can check out everyones ride and get to know each other. There is time down the road for Trail Ridding after we get to know everyone. Who knows we may come away from a Meet and Greet throwing Rocks at each other. I would think a One Dayer would be good to start with. I think we have enough in common with just our trucks that we could make it through a day with no problems. You have to remember that None of us know what the other is like! I'm sure however that we all care enough about our trucks that there would be lots of questions and time for Look/See. Just my Two Cents worth.

You missed that one, as did almost everyone else. I believe it was at the end of February in Missoula. I know MTgirl went, Mondwa planned it and didn't show.

Thats why I suggested the gravel road trip/ralley first. Or we could do a highway trip as a group from point A to point B, then break for home. I know I did put up some more technical stuff, but that's because I'm pretty sure that everyone can get there if they have good tires.

Oh, We will!! Maybe beer bottles if we do a multiple day trip.

Your right, that's why we're on this site, but I'll help you learn a little bit about me. From my location and age:
I have no job & no money, but I do drive a Tacoma.
And to fill in the rest:
I have no conscience, very little dignity, make some bad decisions, but I love to have some fun and that's what this meet is about.

Throw rocks at me - fine. Throw rocks at my truck and someone's gonna get hurt!

    At least you're honest!

I was thinking of making this one more of a road trip weekend hoping that more people would come if more was going on.

a couple of the trips that i was thinking would be good - nothing difficult at all, just dirt and some switchbacks...
Off Hwy 43 south of Butte there is a road, Quartz Hill, that eventually connects to I15 at Melrose. Lots of camping in the surrounding area, but very popular so I would recommend we set up camp in the AM then drive, and lots of good fishing if anyone is interested.

Another trek would be to an area I know as Copper Creek - some maps name it something else. basically, head southwest at the bottom of P-Burg hill and jump on a dirt road to the south. The road dead ends about 15 miles back but the upper reaches are fun, lots of logging roads spur off of it too. Everyone coming from the northwest could have the added trip to come over the Skalkaho Pass from Hamilton or through Rock Creek from I90 as they both connect into the main road. Camping also available!

I would have posted maps but there is apparently a conspiracy at Google that is preventing me from doing so!

wow...i didn't think that area would even be accessable this time of year. Sounds like you had...fun?...though! you've obviously made it home safe, can the same be said for your friend and his truck?

    Hey Montana Folks!
Sorry to thread jack, but I am going to apply to University of Montana next year and was wondering what y'all thought of the school.
I live in South Carolina, so it would be a big change, but I love it out West!

We're over here too http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/north-west/67395-montana-taco.html if you care to join in with our BS.

I didn't go to U of M myself but know many people who did. What are you planning to study there?

I didn't have my truck up there. If we would have had my truck as well as me driving, we wouldn't have gotten stuck in the first place. Not so much fun, but an experience nonetheless. Haha. I will see if I can find a good trail or two for us that isn't too hard but provides some great vistas out there in the Wise River/Big Hole area. I am not super familiar anymore, but I didn't have a truck for 2 years here either. I will do work soon.

You will love the U of M. If you like the outdoors at all you will enjoy it here. Also, if you move out here you get to hang with all of us! I am going to school at Tech here in Butte, but I went to Bozeman (MSU) last year and it was a blast, so I can't imagine the U of M being much different. I party there every once in a while, lots of fun.
