For those talking about bags, I can't recommend the ThinkTank Retrospective line enough. I've been using the 5 and the 7 would be perfect for a DSLR and a few lenses. Super high quality. Only thing I don't like is Velcro but they have built in silencers so I'm going to sew some buckles on instead. Ha

Also, I have to give the OM-D back this week :( super sad. But it's got me hooked and I'm very strongly considering switching and maybe testing out the new Fuji :)

Nice shot! I really like how well that 400 5.6 works in overcast skies. It's my favorite lens to work with.

You may want to see what it looks like to you if you take a hair off the top. I think cropping of that dead space down to just touching where the tree fades into the mist will bring the focus down to the subject more and the horizon up to give a different feel to it a wee bit.

I love 3:2 in landscape but sometimes prefer something closer to 4:3 in portrait. Sometimes.

Thanks! I had heard tales of a birding thread somewhere else but couldn't find it when I went looking for it.

Sorry :( I've been collecting camera kit for almost a decade now, and it's my one really expensive hobby. There have been some amazing deals in the past year or so on Canon stuff, and I guess the one nice thing is that lenses hold their value so upgrading to the latest and greatest isn't so painful as long as you keep all the original packaging and take good care of your stuff.

I can give you my 2 cent's worth on this subject as I have both cs6 and lightroom. Lightroom is better for organization of your files but I prefer to use photoshop for working hard files. Lightroom has a new platform which is great.
If you can afford both that is the way to go. There are a couple of other programs I use for my Fine Art business and they are alien skin for enlargements and nik software for my black and whits conversions. Have a great day...:D

yeah I've heard good and bad things about the pistol grip style. It seems really convenient but I hear it doesnt' lock down so well for heavier cameras.

    Just a little. Lol

This is the 055xprob with the 498rc2 head.

So far I'm liking it pretty well. It's stout with the 70-200 mounted on it with remote.
