I do have to say that it isn't very roomy in the back seats but being without children... I don't care lol.
Kinda what appealed to me was the older the runner, the smaller they were.
And at 6'3 I can still sleep in the back when camping

I thought I would join the party over here. I have a 2015 TEP in White. I have done a few mods like Demello sliders, HID low beams, 6K LEDs all around, backup and side sonar and a few more. I ordered a Prinsu rack and there are way more owners of them here, especially after the group buy.

I am curious about the rear seat room in a 5th gen vs a dcsb 2nd gen tacoma. I currently have 1 car seat back there, and within the next year or two there may be 2 car seats. Anyone have experience with 2 car seats in a 5th gen runner and a dc tacoma that they could compare? Thanks

 

Thanks. My in-laws have a 4th gen, and I never tried to fit the car seat back there, but it seemed like it had much more room in the back seat. Ill prolly have to run by a dealer and try to fit the car seat, see how it works out.

 

If my memory serve me right, 5th should be bigger and my 22nd row slides back and forth and reclines as well

 

My wife has an 08 highlander and it has a crazy amount of back seat room. I got rid of a 1st gen AC for the 2nd gen DC for the first car seat. May be looking into a 5th gen runner before long. Good thing is the 2nd gen still holds good value so I wont be totally in the hole again.

 

I moved from a (2nd gen) 2012 DCSB to a (5th gen) 2014 T4R. The T4R does have more room in the second row than a Taco. In mine, a Limited 4x4 without 3rd row, the foreword portion of the lower 2nd row is hinged on the front lower edge and does not adjust fore & aft. The backrest however offers a limited recline adjustment. The hinge on the lower allows the seat portion to be folded up and foreword so the backrest may be folded foreword and down providing a nearly flat floor from the tailgate to the back of the front seats (excluding rear wheel arches).

 

Great. Thanks for the input. Sounds like the 2nd row is similar to the taco back seat with the bottom fold forward and the seat back fold down.

 

The 5th gen is significantly bigger with space front and rear compared to the 4th gen. I have been contemplating for this reason about possible trade in. At over 6 foot the front can become cramped in longer road trips. The 5th gen is totally different.

 

My wife and I are looking at used 4Runners. We are looking the 2014+ models. We Have found several that we like but we need the 3rd row seating and not too many have them. My question is, can we add the 3 row folding seats to a model that does not come with them?

Bummer. The wife wants a white one with the 3rd row so we have plenty of seating for our kids. Plus leather, sunroof, etc. it's been tough finding one anywhere close to our area.

I have 3rd row. Definitely can't be added into one without unless you are seriously crafty... Funny. I have exactly what you want and couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I wanted a black one with 2 rows.

I found a limited but it did not have a 3rd row. Funny because I thought the limiteds had a 3rd row.
