I hear you. I also would love to find a super low mileage 3.4, but we all know that's $$$! I've got 251K on my 3.4 and I'm super meticulous when it comes to doing oil changes and other maintenance, so I feel quite confident in the status of my engine. If money and time were no issue, I'd rebuild my engine with all OEM parts and be the happiest 4Runner owner out there. I can see hitting 300K won't be a stretch though. The LS swap will be nice, and I'd love to see that in person. Also $$$ I'm sure!

As long as you continue being meticulous with upkeep, I could definitely see it tracking 300k. My best friend has a 97 4runner with the 3.4, and the guy that owned it before him never changed the oil. My friend was meticulous with it from day 1 of owning it. By the time we decided to rebuild it, it was at 367k, and had still been running strong, but we went to do the valve cover gaskets, since they were leaking badly, and when we removed the covers, we could see that everything was bummed up with deposits. We ended up rebuilding it. Been almost a year since we finished it, and it's doing great. The day after we got it running again, it was driven to Kentucky for a wedding and back the next day.

Those are my favourite style 4runners. Too bad I live in a climate where nice ones like that are extremely rare. Usually rusted out or 400k on them.

Yup, I like survivor vehicles so when I find one, I snag it. My 86 IROC is same, all original no rust low mile buggy.

    I had a 1998 K1500 ext cab.

Loved it, except mileage, horrible appetite for expensive fuel pumps that only lasted 30k, and the trans blew at 113k or so.

    Was a good truck, otherwise.

Was looking for the actual service manual, not owners.
