Absolutely...the Camera mount is now a stand alone item :hattip:

Let me know if any additional information would be helpful from my end and talk soon.

Hey all! A few questions before making the trek out to take delivery of our SP.

Does the extruded frame of the x1 take any m8 sized t slot hardware? Planning on adding a few anchor points but i have yet to take delivery and want to be prepared. If anyone has any known options that work via Amazon, etc, let me know.

Also, what light strips are folks using on the insides of the tent?

    Thanks!!

This is what Super Pacific recommends: https://www.mcmaster.com/5537T689/

HardKorr are lights are popular but hard to find. I’d check these out if I didn’t have the HK lights already: https://kingpinequipped.com/

SP has some T slot nuts on their site that fit the external T slots. They are M6. I think their lash point item is M8. They have one other T slot product that doesn't specify a size. I'd call them and ask what they have.

You can go with the McMastercar versions or also look up 4545 tnut on Amazon and a host of options will pop up. With reference to lighting (shameless plug coming! haha)...I own and operate ASG Offroad and produce accessories for the X1, including a comprehensive lighting kit that is made up of the HardKorr lights that we all know and love (Here's a direct LINK to the lighting kit for easy reference along with a couple of pictures below). Whether you're needing a full lighting solution, Rain Drain to keep the waterfall at bay, or a rainfly awning kit, ASG Offroad will get you set up so All Systems are Go for Offroad!!

PS - Make sure to use SPearly for additional savings on the Pre-Order items (a little bird told me that the awning/rainfly pre-order billet mounts may be in stock!!)

Its a big club, and now I am in it. Sold off my rear RTT setup. Ordered an X1. Gets here early October. Everything in the bed should still be viable. Just planning to build a bench top above the slide out.

    Welcome to the party!!!

One thing you may want look at is your roof rack...I have a Victory 4x4 roof rack on my rig and had to get a little cut happy with the angle grinder. This prevented it from sounding like an angry gremlin banging on the roof while on the trail (or even some of the not so maintained freeways).

I know it will fit, but that doesn't mean it won't rattle! I might have to get a front half rack.

Hey question for those of you who got hardkorr lights, are you running controls for each led or daisy chaining?

Will pry do upstairs one circuit and the bottom three daisy chained.

I did separate controls for upper and lower sections. I didn’t want upper lights to be on when the camper was closed if I needed lights on only in the lower section.

How have folks mounted their flex solar panels to the top? Double sided tape? Gorilla? And i see some folks using a layer of corrugated plastic as a heat? barrier. Is that essential? Thanks for all the answers to my string of questions. X1 goes on tomorrow!!!

I’m planning on using velcro with a Renogy flexible panel.

“Turns out that there can be a potential problem with a glue down mounting. Panels absorb a lot of heat, in addition to the photons that make the electricity. That heat needs a place to go, and it usually dissipates to the surrounding air. If you’ve stuck the panel down to an insulating surface, say, the membrane roof of your RV, the solar cells can actually overheat and become damaged. So, the answer is to create a little space between the panel and the mounting surface.”

I also run separate controllers to isolate the "upstairs" from the "downstairs". That said, they both are on the same power line via a power cord splitter.

    Your typical overlander mods
As @WaitingOnMyR1T stated, directly mounting the solar panel can reduce its efficiency but that said, I have mounted numerous panels flush with 3M and Sunflare panels come with some sort of 3m preinstalled. I’m sure a lot of it will have to do with the quality of panel but I had no issue flush mounting my 175w flex solar panel. Currently running a Sunflare panel directly mounted to the roof and it’s been great!

Quite a few people mounted their panels direct using industrial strength velcro or something like VHB tape. I haven't heard of any panels failing yet because of that. But the comment I'd read about is their lifespan or efficiency could be reduced by lack of insulation or airflow. So, any impact could be yet to come. I'm sure panels are improving constantly and dropping in price so replacement after a few years isn't an issue.

At the time I installed mine I went with a different approach that provided insulation and airflow since I hadn't seen any long term reviews for mounting flex panels direct. Details & pics of what I did here:

So far this setup has worked great with no issues. I would probably just mount direct next time though. This setup was kind of a PITA to do.

I use aluminum flat bar on the front edge and mounted via the SP extrusion. For the rear edge I used aluminum angle bar and attached that to my crossbar extrusion. That way there is a bit off airflow underneath. I installed this right after I got the camper and have never had any issues with high speeds nor overheating
