The passenger window lockout effects the driver's side switch? Really?

So, yesterday, I went to drop the passenger window while I was driving and nothing happened. First thought was "Damn. Fuse or motor?" Then I noticed the lockout was pushed, so I released it and tried again, with the window working fine.

40+ years of driving, and this is the first time I've come across a lockout button that takes the driver's controls out as well as the point-of-use.

Yep, When the lock is engaged, the only window that can be moved is the drivers window. Stumbled across this thread looking for a solution to my problem. I have a dog that rides in the back seat of my truck, and likes to stick her head out the window. I only put the window down about half way, so she can't fall out. I keep the lock engaged so she can't open it when she steps on the switch. Problem is that I have to disengage it every time I want to open or close the window, or even the front passenger window. I thought I'd be smart, I took the door panels off and unplugged the switch, but now the windows don't work at all. I'm currently looking for a solution, maybe I can put a jumper in the harness to "bypass" the rear switches?
