Is it supported well on the OEM roof bars?

Here you go. It was actually $6.68 shipped :D

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EHHLD8/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The strip has double sided adhesive. I basically ran it on the inside of each of the mounting tracks and along the aluminum borders on the front/rear of the tent with one long strip. It was actually too long, so I cut off about 18" of the LED strip. It starts and ends toward the front driver side where I hooked up a quick disconnect and ran it down the bed rack and pulled the power from the existing bed lights that I already have.

I built a kickout off the side of mine to hold the bikes. Handlebars clear the top of the tent by a few inches. Should be a quick addition to any bedrack. The turn comes out about as far as my side mirrors.

Not a great picture, but you get the idea.

Well just finished reading this thread from start to finish. I've known about RTTs for a few months now but just recently decided to look into getting one. Let me say a few things...

Box Rocket- VERY NICE setup of the two grey kukenams..couldn't look anymore badass in my mind

Eddy @SOS- I took a look at your low profile racks and I really like the angle iron you use at the bed rails while still incorporating tubing for the rack portion..I might be looking into this some more as this would be the only option for mounting my tent (no roof rack or bars).

A few concerns I have for my truck: Being a 2.7L with almost 200,000 miles, my truck can barely get its own ass around, especially after adding weld-on sliders recently. It was good there for a while after I regeared but the added weight of the sliders is bringing it back to where it once was...completely gutless. I understand the weight of the tent and the rack is not going to help this situation any..so what do you guys recommend I do?

Definitely go with a low profile rack. You don't need to be fighting the wind/air too.

Keep the rack as light and low as possible. Having a 2.7l myself I feel your pain.

I wonder about this since I don't see a significant difference in fuel mileage between tent on and tent off. Of course, if your tent is cab mounted this might not be true and you may want some kind of deflector to move the air up and over.

The reason is the airflow comes up off the windshield and I bet the air stream is pretty dirty and also higher than the tent.

I use mine on the roof of my cab and don't see a difference in gas mileage with it on or with out it.
