Its not mine. I just thought the platform that moves was a good idea. I guess those boxes are heavy?

Well there normally used for construction etc. to store tools in and lock up. We have bigger models at work on job sites. I’ve seen them in construction trucks weighted down and trucks do not look happy carrying them.

I’m pretty sure that’s his dually he’s turning into an over lander rig. I watched his video the other night. And I agree those boxes eat f’n suspensions. Even with my air bags moving one of those for my bosses husband I waiting to here the boom and my truck be totaled.

I have one of those in my garage. Wouldn’t fit in the Tacoma between the wheel wells.

Really like it so far. Couple things to think about:

    • We lost a considerable amount of space going from a Mt.Ranier to a Mt.Hood XL (we have us + 2 35-55lb dogs)
    • Due to the sleekness, there is little to no storage closed

    • We love that it fits in the garage which means we never have to take it on and off.
    • It is lighter than the Mt. Ranier
    • My Awning attaches directly to it.
    • Setup is significantly faster/easier than a regular RTT

I’m at a loss here looking for a rack to fit my needs. Does anyone know of a simple rack tall enough to get my tent over the cab? Short bed looking to put an Autohome Columbus on there. Yakima Overhaul looks like one option with the height adjustment but am I forgetting anything else? This is purely a personal decision but I would prefer a more round profile than the “erector set” looking bed racks.

I got it!!!!! Finally after years of want and weeks of prep I picked up my heo 72x96 tent today. Mounting it was a bitch but Mr. Jeff (owner) really made a huge difference. Shared some great stories and sent me on my way. Needless to say I underestimated the size of this thing. It’s huge opened up. Me the wife and our daughter have plenty of room. Our boys are anything but campers. Hopefully they come around though.

Just a thought . Did anyone add bed stiffeners to there 3rd gen? I didn’t and my buddy asked me if I did.

My KB Voodoo sits 6” above the bed. Doesn’t the rack help it from flexing?.....or will the bed really spred without stiffeners?!

I believe it still will. I have had Total Chaos on for a long time. I like them because they go all the way to the top. Others dont even get close

I just ordered some @CaliRaisedLed ones. I take my tent off when not using, but I’d hate to have an issue while in the Backcountry!

My cap may have been heavier as I had a side tool box that did have a battery in for one year. However when the rtt was added (if I recall) I did move it to the corner of the bed. Other than that, wheeling with open diffs and “bumping” up obstacles with a cap and tent can be too much for our beds.

and pics. In one of the photos you can see how the total chaos brackets kept only one part of the bed square while the fender pulled away.

    fixed it though.....
