Needing to get a RTT soon, but I'd prefer (my wife especially) to avoid the ~$1800 retail price. Generally speaking, is there any specific time that's good for grabbing these tents on sale? During the winter? Or is there a known yearly blowout sale, or blemish sales?

    Thanks for any advice.

I know a member bought a Tepui through REI during their 20% off member sale. They frequently send out discount coupons to members and you'll get a 10% dividend credit back on the purchase at the end of the year. That would be worth checking out if you have them in your area.

Oh wow, that'd be great. I hadn't even realized REI carried them - let alone that they would actually allow the 20% coupon to be used on them. I just checked their site, and unfortunately they don't list the Autana, which is what I really want, but I could probably downgrade to a Kukenam too for the price.

I ordered an Autana Sky through REI even though it wasn't listed. Free shipping, warranty, and 20% off coupon. Great deal.

This is perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully REI will have their next sale this fall.

    Thanks, Tacoma buddies.

One more question: is there any difference between the Kukenam and Autana - other than the annex? And I won't even be using the annex. I just want the canopy opening. Although maybe not for the $500 price difference....

I think they both do discounts for members, cvt usually has a group buy in the fall as well.

Also I don't know if you have one nearby or get the catalogs, but Cabela's just started carrying Tepui RTT's. If you're a card member and have a lot of points saved up, plus all of the coupons they send in the mail; you could get a Tepui at a pretty good price.

Had some ppl ask for interior pics of my Autohome airtop. When I sit up inside I have about 1.5 ft of headroom still. Don't mind the computer, was up in RMNP and was doing research on the next days adventures.
