*THE RTT Owners Thread (With BS)*

I just threw the tent back on the truck for the weekend and replaced my buckles with sea to summit buckles.

 

I did this very thing. Might not last for ever but, I'm willing to try.

 

I am looking at purchasing a RTT. Tepui is one at the top of my list. I just saw a Facebook post of a guy at Moab complaining the wind had his Tepui rainfly flapping and noisy all night. Another guy agreeing that is a problem with Tepui. I camp on the beach most of the time and this doesn't sound very good. There is usually a constant breeze/wind anywhere from 5 mph to 25 mph. RTT's are pretty new around here. Do all RTT rainflies make a lot of noise in the wind? Is one more quiet than others in wind? Any recommendations? Thanks for any info!

 

X2 mine flaps on windy days, I just use a small bungee cord too tighten it down a bit more

 

Yep. My ARB rainfly will flap a but in the wind even with everything as tight as it will go.

Man I'm planning on climbing Grays and Torreys late September... hows the weather/snow right now?

 

Had plans to use all this at the Smith Lakes this weekend but got up there and had to head back due to a work emergency. Sometimes I wish I didn't have reception. But hey I gotta work to play in the end.

Anyone here have the newer Smittybilt Overlander with the sunroof?

They are on sale for $1000 CAD up here at the moment and I'm not sure about the quality at that price.

Personally you can't beat the quality for the price point, considering the price difference from other rtt brands

 

I'm glad you posted that. This whole time I've been scrambling up the side of my truck and crawling in the other end.

 

I had someone ask me what I keep in my storage container... When I looked at him like he had 10 heads he looked at it and said oh nevermind thats one of those australian tent things.

 

I did this once after putting the fly poles in I didn't wanna walk all the way around... Just hopped in from the other side haha.
