personally i could never see myself ever taking care of any other truck the way i take care of my tacoma. ive had a ford, and a nissan. For some reason i knew when i got my tacoma, if i take care of this truck it will take care of me

i'm a ford man to the bone! i love fords and i own 6! i bleed ford blue! that being said, i'll sell every ford i have (except the 72 mustang conv...my first car) before i even think of selling my yota! i've tried to talk my son into taking one of the other cars when he turns 16 (2 years!!) but he won't hear of it! oh well. the bright side is, with all the people who hate toyotas, i ought to be able to find another tacoma for a pretty good deal! life is good...lol

So less than ½% of all Camrys have this issue? I'd say that's pretty fucking rare and not a real concern.

And don't bash the Ridgeline. It's good for what it does. It's a truck for people who don't fully need a truck. It fills a niche and it does it well.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
You know what's interesting is that I do know several people with older 80's and 90's Chevy trucks that have insane amount of miles on them. A friend has one that was run into a tree 10 years ago. Yet it has 350,000 miles on it and STILL runs great. Go figure. I also had a friend with a 89' Caravan. That sucker had almost 290,000 miles on it. The interior was shot to hell, but it ran smooth as butter!

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
My 2003 Chevy Silverado z71 blah blah blah....had its transmission, transfercase, front wheel bearings, tierods, and other things i can't remember all go wrong at the same time. I got it running with the transmission it had and replaced it with my tacoma. (Every single person in my family has a toyota now).

They just need to realize that a computerized asembly system can always make omething more precise than a human hand can. My family has had a few Domestic vehicles, and all of them were terrible. For instance, my dads Chevy Avalanche's transmision blew out after 50,000 miles, back window actuators broke after 25,000 miles. But some people love domestic. I guess its just luck of the draw.

i love toyotas as much as the next guy (well mabey more ive loved them sence i could say toyota) but they could be better and by better i mean they should have NEVER droped the solid front axle and the geared transfercase or the 4wd stick sticking out of the floor or the manuel locking hubs
if toyota made a 2009 tacoma with a solid front axle, manual locking hub, 4wd stick sticking out of the floorwith a 5-speed i would buy that truck in a heartbeat no matter what the coust

Why? With the Electronic transfer case I don't have to reverse 5-10 feet after I take it out of 4Hi to 2Hi like you pre 05's do.

And why do you need a solid front axle? Sure it can take a beating from hell, but what do you plan to do with your Tacoma? If you want a 3/4 Ton. Buy a 3/4 Ton. Stop making the Tacoma out to be something it's not.

my truck nor not of my fathers trucks (82,86,94) or any other pre05 toyota truck ive seen u have to back up 5-10 feet

and a solid axle is pretty much all around better than ifs other than ride comfort and a solid is easyer to work on and you get more axle articulation

and i would never buy somthing other than a toyota unless i needed to pull somthing extreamly fucking heavy on a daily basis and who said im trying to make it somthing its not??? where did u get that from????

if you would do some research on 79-85 toyotas youll find out that they were pretty much unstopable from the factory

Says in the old manuals that you need to back up a few feet to fully disengage the 4wd mechanism. But what do I know, I drive an 07.

It just seems like you're completely unhappy with what Toyota has done to the second gen Taco. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it.

    Each to their own.

im not un happy with the second gen tacos its just sum things i would change
with the turn knob 4wd system you have a chance of it not engageing when you need it but with a lever on the floot its just pull back, over, up, up and its in no questions asked

im just saying things toyota could have dont to keep them out of the shops and on the road/trails longer

I test drove my truck like 2 days after the place I bought it at got it in on trade. I drove it before they even did a pre-inspection, making sure it was safe to drive. I'd say that the dealer only had it for a week total.

That's not any different than TOYOTA people bashing on Jeeps or any other non-toyota vehicle.

It doesn't happen on this forum so much...but the bashing is just as bad when it's coming out of the mouths of Toyota owners.

I get just as pissed off with people who bash on jeeps. :D
