Power windows are no longer working, trying to figure out which fuse they are on.

    Damn it...

Is there any way to test if one of the square 50A fuses under the hood is blown? I have used a test light on blade type fuses before but have no idea how to test the 50A square fuses.

They test pretty similarly to the balde type fuses... but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense as tobwhybthe e brake light and now power windows are going hey wire

    reconnected wire to factory config.

ABS light on. E-brake light on. Locker light on.

    No power windows.

    Fuses do not look blown.

    Shit.

I guess try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, maybe a reset is what it needs, can you post pics of as far as you got such as wiring harness and other possibly usefull pics?

Have disconnected and reconnected battery everytime that I have worked on the plug; still not working.

I tried to take a picture, it's dark outside so it's coming out poorly. It is the correct wire, I checked against your pictures a million times. It is now spliced together.

At first the mod appeared to do nothing - I was flipping the switch and turning the truck on and off and getting nothing.

I looked up at the dash and all three lights were on (e-brake, ABS, and locker). I then discovered that the power windows are not working.

I cannot locate a blown fuse but I am certain that must be it. Must be a main fuse that feeds that block of fuses.

Are there any identical fuses you can use to swap out and verify?

    Ign 1 no. 2 fuse

Triple check it and replace it. Happened to me, I bet your air doesn't work either.

This fixed it. No homo, but I love you man.

Haven't checked the mod yet to see if it works, but the windows work again.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Yup, I went through the same shit when trying this version, kept popping that same fuse. I ended up using a simple On-Off SPST switch with NO ground. I know you tried the one in my write-up, but it may be the switch you are using.

    :) your welcome!

I was sitting at a rest stop along I40 doing this mod waiting for people to go to Hurricane creek near Asheville. Popped the fuse apparently, twisted the wires back together stock, and proceeded to try to figure it out every time we stopped.
Lol no air, music, windows stuck up, and dash lit up like a Christmas tree. We were rolling through the trail with the doors open.. Held onto them tight so they wouldn't hit trees.

Did you ever get the mod to work using this method?

I have an older truck without vsc so I think that is why your mod did not work for me. I tried it using a simple two pole spst as well as an spst with a ground.

I used landphil's method. Mine's an SR5, none of that electronic "safety" stuff other than abs.
There's details in my build page.
