If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
I'm curious if you guys are connecting a ground to your switch. I tried this method originally and kept popping the IGN-2 fuse (10a). After removing the ground and changing to an On/Off SPST switch everyting worked correctly.

I used a ground. If you connect the ground to the wrong side it pops the fuse.
If it doesn't work by just opening the circuit (BensonX way) then you need the ground.

I ended up getting everything to work, but I used a round about method.

I had an SPST switch custom engraved by ottratw that I was determined to use. However, even though it had a ground on it, the ground on it seemed to be for the LED light in the switch and not the wire at all.

I ended up buying a SPDT relay and wiring the switch, the spliced green wire, and a ground to it. The SPST switch controls the SPDT relay and everything works as intended.

I have a whole series of them going in. Roof light bar, bumper light bar, back up light, air compressor, abs disable.

All six will eventually be the same style ottratw switches.

Did mine today, after procrastinating for to long. All in all took around 45 , with sottering and trimming the switch to fit.
Light comes on with the switch flipped then off when I hit it again

This still has me curious why some pop fuses and some don't, almost make me want to recommend tryong it without using the ground first, if that's no dice, then try grounding it

I to used an OTRATTW switch in conjunction with a SPDT relay and it works great. For the record I tried it first without grounding with no luck, but it works great when i ground it.

For those planning to go this route you can order a Carling switch from OTRATTW that is SPDT (the V6D2 series) that will work for this application without having to add a relay, or use a SPNC relay (SPST that is normally closed, not open like most), or do the same as Mxpatriot and I and use a SPDT relay, though they do tend to cost a bit more.
