Still on my desktop too! Looks similar to my truck except for the fog lights, wheels, and I changed my SR5 grille out to a TRD OR grille.

Im going to tackle keyless entry on my SR soon. Has anyone installed an OEM system or should I stick with Viper?

I haven't come across an OEM keyless entry. There's a kit that I saw from one dealership but not OEM and it was like $150 or less. I just went ahead with a Viper as you get the alarm/shock sensor/starter kill. Paid $180 installed.

Did you install yourself? The only place near me that sells Viper is BestBuy and I'm not sure I want some kid working on my truck.

Nope. Got it done at very reputable alarm/stereo place. Took the installer a little over 2 hours from start to finish. From what I can tell, they access the kick panel wires, under dash wires, and steering column wiring.

You might check your local window tinting shop also truck supply stores. Both of ours locally install car alarms.

Taking the truck in for 5000 mile maintenance this afternoon but the real reason for the dealership visit is my speedometer is bouncing or hanging. I have read a few other members have had this and it resulted in a gauge cluster replacement. I have contacted the dealer and they do not do "loaner cars" if you have to leave your vehicle with them, instead you can rent a car for $30/day. I think that is BS especially if I have to leave my truck because of a faulty gauge assembly!

That's a pet peeve about my dealer, not having loaners. Fortunately I work very close so I can drop off the truck and they'll drive me back to work, then pick me up again when it's finished.

I work about 5 miles from the dealership and they have a shuttle as well. Getting home after work (if they have to keep my truck to replace the gauge cluster) on the other hand could get interesting.

All the dealerships that I've ever used always give loaners and if they don't, sends me to a rental place as Toyota covers for this under warranty. Dealership doesn't pay anything but do the paper work. I suggest you call Toyota Corp.

You should insist on a free loaner. That is warranty work and they will likely have the truck for more than a day.The dealer had mine for two weeks waiting for the gauge cluster, which was on back order. The service manager got the Toyota factory rep involved.Originally it was going to be more than a month for the new part to come in.

Just dropped it at the dealer. Luckily I had videos on my phone of the trucks speedometer acting up which expedited the "we have to replicate the issue" process. They are going to do my 5000 mile service, look into the cluster and let me know what the verdict is. I made sure that they would get me in a vehicle if the truck indeed stayed more than today for warranty work. I go back when I get off work

Well the Tacoma will be spending a few nights at the dealer for a new cluster to be installed. A little disheartening after only putting 5000 miles on it. They did put me in a Camry XSE for the time being and said my warranty covers the rental charges

I can tell you right now that it will not be a few nights. First they said it was about a week and a half and turned out to be 27 days. Toyota's bill for the rental was $980.xx
