Is that an implied skid plate above the front air dam?

Don’t think so, part of the bumper design…or what they call bumpers now-a-days. Never was crazy about the all plastic facade that most trucks/SUVs have. Much prefer them separate, easier to fix when damaged or adding a winch bumper.

Personaly would like to have a 70 series over the 4R or the LC250, but the US will never see it, it is what is….and be happy with what we have.

Heaven forbid a manufacturer maintains a similar design idea across their line of vehicles...

I mean, everyone complains about price hikes on already over-priced vehicles, but then also complains when they use too many of the same things across platforms in an attempt to save on some manufacturing costs. No please, by all means make every model 100% unique so no manufacturing process or tools can be cross-utilized and all have to be specific to each model.

They're the same people who would exclusively choose these, and then say "its different" when you point out they look the same/similar:

It reminds of when people put 1st Gen Taco front clips on the 3rd Gen 4R. How it “should” of come from the factory like the old days.

Remember when they used to make 4Runner styled toppers for the pickups?

Sure do! The resemblences between the two then look just as good today in my opinion. I think the new 24 Tacoma/25 4runner are some of the best looking options out there. Sure, its not for everybody. But the numbers say (or will soon say) its sure as hell for a lot of people.

    “S” pattern?

Like the old Firestones? Or are you referring to the original BFGs?

Don’t like the A-Pillar being very curved and the hood having the sloped look. Makes the 4Runner look fat imo.

Interior cargo hold is terrible, much like the Sequoia.

No fold flat seats, so tossing gear in the from the rear passenger doors is going to be miserable. Why is Toyota so focused on cup holders, rather than actually usable utility? Probably should pull “utility” from the SUV name. SCHV instead? Sport Cup Holder Vehicle… :D

Seems their whole “adventure” line of vehicles, Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, and Sequoia have really screwed the pooch on gear hauling.

    New Rivian R2 for comparison.

Hybrid 4 runner is even worse inside. Kinda like the Sequoia where interior space seems to have been an afterthought.

    I saw that.

Our old Isuzu Trooper was BOF, had a great cargo area, seats also tumbled forward, but were executed better, stayed pretty much folded up the 12 years we owned it. Not sure why Toyota can’t get it right. Seems like a lot of misses with the new models that are targeted at overland market.

One of the best things about the 4 runner is that with very little modification or adjustment you could turn the back cargo area into a place to sleep (mini class b if you will) and just as easily flip the seats up when you get back and revert it back to a passenger carrying SUV. That is no longer in the Sequoia or 4 Runner.

I'm waiting to see how long it takes the plastic lenses to cloud up on the horizontal surfaces in the headlights on the new taco and 4runner. Here in the Desert I suspect its going to be just like the early sec gens starting early in the vehicles life.
