THEFT PREVENTION CATALYTIC CONVERTER

Just got an email at work from my company that the local police advised that there was a group of thieves stealing catalytic converters near our location. Apparently some Prius’ got hit already along with other vehicles.

 

They took the 2 downstream ones.
I'm really glad that I took mine off. Go Kentucky!!!!!

 

Insurance company is gonna shaft me on an OEM replacement. I'm in VA, so I'm tempted to just have a muffler shop weld in some pipes, but I gotta replace the O2 sensor they took with the passenger side converter. Is that something any decent shop can do? Just weld a bung in and pop an O2 sensor into the pipe?

They got my girlfriends catalytic converter over the weekend. Less than two minutes from the time the drove up until they left....

That's just freaky to see and I'd want or at least dream of revenge.

 

Little more butt crack in thoses videos than I was expecting first thing in the morning!

 

I forgot where I heard it but the news or someone was saying to spray paint them with a high temp high visibility paint to deter theft. Not sure why that would deter them. Has anyone heard anything similar?

I would Skidplate instead..

 

Something about them being marked makes them harder to sell. 10 bucks for the paint, I gave it a shot. Not sure how effective it would be, not a problem in my area yet, but I figure it's coming.

 

Good Idea but Agree, Skidplate first. That way the Truck won’t be harmed from the Grenade Frag.

 

xdm 9mm 5.25 19 older model, new model 22 rds, if caught in act highly recommend they cut each other's hands off with the saws all, to get let go. Good mideastern punishment for theft. Give the hands to the pet dog to chew on.
