I had to replace the dashboard controls for my fan / thermostat in my tacoma. Now when you turn it on cool, it blows hot air. If you turnit on hot, it blows cold air. Is there a way to reset the programming?

From a parts dealer in atl. I replaced it once, and it did this. I sent it back and they sent me another replacement, and it does the same thing. That's why I thought maybe it was in the programming

Isn't this an issue with years?

I know there is a write up on how to change it when installing the later year ones.

Prolly gonna need the Techstream program that the dealers have...or get one of the Amazon clone programs. I have the program, and it works good, but there is a pretty steep learning program with using it.

Honestly, I would ask the dealer nicely if they would program it for you. Hint: go there on a slow day, they are more apt to do cherity work when things are slow.

No way to reprogram it, it is physical wires controlling the temperature. You probably are getting a 2005 to 2008 controls that do not work the same as your 2011 truck. One easy way to tell is the 05-08 do not have the Max A/C on the cool side.

What was wrong with your original controls?

The knob turning it from defrost to the vents quit working. It was stuck in defrost.

If the parts dealer will not send you one for a 2011, you could take your non working one and the one that you bought combine the two to make a working one. The vent selector is part of the back part and the other two knobs are on a circuit board. You would need to take the board out of yours and put it in the one you bought.

Take a look at this thread and see if you want to do it.

Agree with the others here. They are sending you the wrong controller. The wiring is different.
