I been running the BF Goodrich K02's for a little over 2 years.

Here in Oregon that first rain can make the roads pretty greasy and these tires just don't grip well on wet roads. Off-road, they've been fabulous, but with the amount of commuting I do in the city, I could use a solid recommendation.

I have k02's and I would say they preform well in the wet. Our roads could be very different and we probably don't get as much rain. I will be interested to see what people suggest.

Living in Minnesota I probably don't drive on as much wet as you do, however I really noticed how well my General AT/2
    gripped the road.

Is there something new about their rain performance for you this year? I used to slide occasionally with every tire I’ve owned from the BFG rugged terrains that came with the truck, Revos and Yokohama AT2. Haven’t noticed any loss of traction with the KO2.

Maybe drive these for a few more rains to see if it’s just the oil on the road?

But to your question to see an actual improvement I think you will need to get away from aggressive AT tires and find a pavement focused all season like the Michelin LTX. They look like shit to me but are known for road traction.

Michelin AT. K0 suck on wet roads. For those of you who think they do fine? You have never had good rain tires lol.

I had KO2s They’re awful - terrible InRain on pavement and wear noisy. This is my 2nd set of Nittos and I’ll never buy anything different
    Quite on the highway
    Good off-road traction
Good on road traction in wet

I currently run BFG 285/70/17 AT’s. However, I’ve had good success with Bridgestone Revo 3’s. They have two centerline channels that aid in siphen water out quick. They also wear evenly and very minimal road noise. Just my two cents.

What’s the difference? I don’t hydroplane, I don’t break loose starting out at stop lights.
So far 140k miles on the KO2s and never once did I have an issue in the rain.

Yeah, I’m curious about this too. I listed the tires I’ve had on my Tacoma above, and the KO2s are no better or worse in rain.

I totally agree that a road tire would do better. But in my hands the KO2 is as good (say average) in rain as any AT tire I’ve owned.

I’m in the same boat as you. I have 50k on my ko2s and they are down right scary on wet pavement in portland. I’m giving wildpeak at3s a try, they arrive tuesday. There is so much info out there and opinions it’s hard to make a choice.

Have KO2's on my Wrangler, and they're fun in the rain precisely cause I know I won't have traction. I have wildpeaks on my taco and they do much better.

I had some issues with my 3rd Gen 4Runner and KO2s. When it would rain here in AZ (once in a blue moon) getting on the highway from those metered lights, or even a stop light it would spin. As dumb as it sounds I actually would drive in 4H during the rain to avoid spinning.

My son has the KO2s on his Rubicon JL. They are great off road, on gravel, in the yard, etc., but in my opinion they suck in snow too. I was driving his Jeep this last December when we were coming home from Iowa. We got into some pretty good snow and I was not impressed. At one point, we left the interstate to a frontage road because we were stuck in traffic due to a spin out wreck. When I drove down through the ditch, they felt great, on the road, not so much. I'm just not impressed with them.
If you want a good rain AT tire, my recommendation would be the Falken Wildpeak. These are the only AT tire I know of that has full depth siping. Aside from the main rain removal channels, this siping allows the entire tread block to flex and grab a slick road a little better.

My last set of good off road tires were siped. Maybe you can give that a shot?
