It is a marketing hoax, do not fall for it. They want you to trade your truck in so they can sell you a new automobile and financing. We all get those letters from dealers.

That's a ploy dealers use. They want to get you to buy a new vehicle (profit and commission) and then take your truck, clean and resell it (profit and commission). Just a way to make more sales. They do the same if you had any other vehicle.

It is a ploy to get you to spend thousands with them. Keep your truck if you are happy with it, but yes, not many vehicles that hold their value like a Tacoma...

I hate these types of things. I bought my wife's 4Runner 3 years ago from a dealer in Phoenix and the only time after purchase that they tried to contact me was for this exact thing. It pissed me off. I will never buy from them or any other dealer again.

I still get letters from Budget to buy my 2002 Dodge Intrepid that I sold 5 years ago too......

its a Toyota bullshit marketing plan....they send those notes to my girl for her shitty Yaris once every 3 months offering a ridiculous amount for it because "they need more used cars".....and hopefully you'll buy a new one from them, right after they only offer you 1/3 of what the letter said

Don't worry, they make it up on $50 "premium" cabin air filters and the like.

Has anyone tried taking in their tacoma and say they do NOT want another vehicle to replace it? Because if they really wanted your car it wouldn't matter if you're gonna do a trade in or sell it back to the dealer.

Ford dealer does this too, it's about selling a car not necessarily the trade.

Sadly there's no long a plethora of used cars to choose from. Just help the poor dealer out.
