If you're afraid of any minute of oil left in the oil pan. You could after draining the oil unscrew the valve to see if any more drips out. If it does file the threads down about 1/16 of an inch to see if it helps. Screw the valve back in the pan pour 4 to 6 ounces back in motor. Use valve to drain the oil, then unscrew valve to see any oil drains out. If so repeat the process, until you remove enough threads that you can no longer get any more motor oil running out. Personally one or two ounces left in the pan is no big deal, if that much. Driving the truck up on ramps would most likely accomplish the same task.

Do it. You will be glad you did.
As for the thread not letting the oil out issue. Nothing. Let me look for the post about this. I believe it was a person from Fumoto that responded.

That is the one I have. Doesn't stick down much at all.
I got that one to put a hose on it. Makes draining super clean.
I think you will be very happy with it.
It was one of the best things I did to the truck.

That won't work as you need something to depress and open the drain valve when inserted. I did find a screw-in device with a tube attached that I'll use on future filter changes.

So Corey you going for the "N type" with the longer nipple? Correct? I think a guy would be alright with it, I know I would as my truck is a street princess. Nothing to knock the valve off plus like you said a guy can buy the black plastic cap to keep dust out of the valve.

I was going to get the the "S type" with the short nipple, and I still might. I have till November of next year to decide.

I think I may go with this one cause idk if the cap will fit in the short nipple.... This nipple on the long one is only 15mm which is like .59 inches. Which isn't long at all.

They use a very stout gasket and you don't have to worry about leaking or water ingestion.

I don't think there will be an issue. The rear diff breather is a different beast all together. That "valve" made to open and close.
The Fumoto uses a ball valve. Not sure about the gasket.
I have gone through water with it. No issues that I can see.

If your oil don't leak out I'm sure no water is going to get in there is you submerged the oil pan!!

This is the only view I can find of the inner workings.
I think this is a Fumoto. If not, it is very close to how it works.
I see a gasket type ring at #9.

This valve is pretty sweet. It is very well put together.
If you can see one up close, I think you would be assured of its capabilities.
Not sure if auto parts places carry these to just check out.
