    Topless, now since I got my Tacoma, once I fix my Jeep this spring, the top is going to come off and stay off probably, will only drive it in the nice weather because Jeeps suck in snow, especially with the short wheelbase and light weight.

    Why thank you! :D I love getting compliments on my rigs! That cage was fabricated by Throttle Down Kustoms and is tied into the frame because my Jeep has a fiberglass pan.

    :mad::p

    i wasn't sure how strong the automatics were in those. it was kind of tough driving the 5 spd down hill without the proper gearing. :rolleyes:

    see, this is the kind of info i was looking for when i started this thread. :cool:

    I had a 92 XJ that was a 5 spd and it was fun to drive but the gearing sucked. I think all 5 spd 4.0L XJ's have 3.07's

    Don't get me wrong, Tacos are by far my fav ride, but I did own a '89 Cherokee and driving that thing around was by far the funnest thing I've ever driven. And it was good looking too. But unfortunately some pos from south Atlanta thought so too and decided to borrow it.:(

    Still, I like the Cherokees, even better than the wranglers and cjs.

    Ive got a 89 YJ as my beater and I love it. It hemorrhages oil from the valve cover, has absolutly no power and ive blew the rear diff in a parking lot. I wouldnt sell it its too much god damn fun.

    Meh. I'd take the power trade off and low end grunt of the 4.7L.
    There's been no issues on my other half's 2001 with over 230,000kms on it. Just routine maintenance.

    Another one I'd be looking into would be a WJ. With a mild lift they look dead sexy IMO. I was looking for one of these before I got another XJ. Prices are pretty reasonable as well, again I'd rather have the I6 than the V8.

    Between this thread and going back on JF again, I have been inspired to fix mine sooner! It has been sitting for a year now with a bad carb, just need to scrape up the bucks to buy a new one!

    I'm considering getting a YJ once I sell my truck and boat, so I'll be joining the dark side as well.
