    Hey y’all,

So I currently I drive a 2010 Platinum F150 4x4 with a 6 inch lift and 35s, and absolutely love it. However I’ve been looking at Tacoma’s for some time now and am considering making the change. Right now I’m looking at a used 2014 TRD offroad 4x4 in silver and it’s a great looking truck, but is just a few steps down from the comfort level I’m used to in my F150 so I’m having a hard time making a commitment.

I use my truck for everything whether it’s hunting, camping, off-roading or road trips and I feel like a Tacoma would really suit my needs. I live in San Diego so having a smaller truck would be very convenient.

So I guess realistically I’m just concerned about the basic interior features on the 2014 Tacoma. I’ve looked at the 3rd gens with seat heaters, climate control, moonroof, jbls, etc and they are just out of my price range (under 30k).

So if anyone has any advice or words of encouragement I would be interested to hear it!

    Thanks!

Some of those comforts can be added aftermarket. I actually like the simplistic interiors, less to go wrong down the road.

Interior is a little tight on space in the Tacoma but you get used to it. Tacoma is an all around good vehicle though and I have been happy with it coming from a Dodge Ram.

It’s definitley smaller and less roomy than I’m used to. But I’d be going from a truck with seat heaters, electric everything, climate control, leather seats, premium sound system etc to a Tacoma with a very plastic looking interior.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
For anyone who had a “luxury” truck before, do you miss all the features?

I have both, the Tacoma and a 2013 ford f-150 super cab long bed.they are two different trucks. You cant make the tacoma roomier and larger like the full size ford, your not going to have the power of a V8 or diesel engine, i drive both my trucks every day. the ford is my work horse and can not be beat for loading down the bed and cab with equipment and people, the Tacoma is my cadillac. i drive it for relaxation and pleasure its just a fun vehicle to drive and looks great, its also my goto vehicle for long recreational trips. Plus i need something dependable to drive while im getting the dam ford repaired from all its flaws.

The Tacoma will still be on the road looong after the F150 dies. So, if longevity ($) is a concern, take note. I love my 2014 SR5. 45k miles and haven't had a single issue. Oil changes are the only $$ I've had to put into the truck so far.

I traded in m F150 for my 2015 Tacoma. I told my wife the other day that there’s no way I’m going with anything else besides another Tacoma. They are great vehicles and I have no complaints. I currently have 98k miles on it and no issues at all.

I have a DCLB and it seems just big enough in every way. Good visibility, driveability, reliability, practicality....
Who needs heated seats really? With cloth who cares they're never cold. Heated seats just make me think I have to take a dump.

Just make bi-weekly payments on a new PRO. It has it all, and you will soon forget about your Ford.

Only 2 things I wish I had on mine is a sunroof & steering wheel heater (not avail in Canada)

My wife is insisting on heated seats lol. They seem like an easy enough aftermarket add on though.

I'm sorry that you have to drive a ford. Get a taco with a 6 inch lift with 35s

Honestly with the Tacomas seats and some decent seat covers it's really not cold.
But I understand the wife demands :proposetoast:
Fulfill a small request and it goes a long ways...

The simplicity grows on you after awhile.
Everything is functional-no bells. Typically no issues and there is a mod for just about anything you dont like. If interior space is your thing for rear passengers then Id say thats the only drawback.
MPG for a real body on frame truck is also respectable.
