Is the third gen V6 still bulletproof like gen 2?

    All of them.
For the most part. You see some more people on here complaining but for the most part and the sheer number of trucks out on the road, they are still pretty damn reliable

Bullets will seriously damage any aluminum engine block.

We'll see how many are still on the road in 10- 20 years.

Engine probably still is. It’s a Toyota. Everything, probably not

It's proportional. Sell more, have more complaints.

I don’t worry too much about it, because few automobiles where I live last to 200,000+ miles without rusting out.

No, the 3rd gen does not have the same reliability according to JD Power.

The 2015 has a reliability score of 85/100 while the 2016 has a score of 76/100. I think this is expected on the first year of a new platform but it doesn't seem to be getting better.

    2015 -- 85/100
    2016 -- 76/100
    2017 -- 79/100
    2018 -- 75/100
    2019+ not rated

I don't think they are much better or worse than anything else on the market tbh.

JD Power also says Kia and Buick has the highest dependability with Toyota in 5th. I would not trust JD powers as a reliable source of information.

Like seriously, how is Honda below BMW or Dodge?

Just rolled 164,000 miles on my 16 tacoma. Original owner, 5-7k oil change intervals. I have no doubt it will make it to 300k miles. 80% highway miles. 10% off-road 10% city driving. There are some members on here upwards of 200k miles already. I would call the 2GR-FKS reliable.
