    2.1L I-4 Sprinter owners beg to differ. Contractors doing some granite at my place recently had the longest wheel base Sprinter with that motor and drive all across the state and mountains with it loaded. He said it's great. I bet if the 3.5L "new" motor was in that van it would be in the right lane with hazards on in the Columbia River gorge. You don't like diesels and that's fine. But they're not overrated.

    Clearly you are smarter than the guys over at Mercedes, Cummins, Isuzu, and VW. Maybe you should apply to one of those places and tell them to purchase 3.5L Toyota van motors for their applications.

    JKU's are all over the place here, and they are either lifted trailer queen/mall crawlers (with winches) that have never seen dirt driven by guys, or girls driving fancy trim levels with leather and color-matched hardtops (that will never, ever be removed). Sad. I think a stripped down stock sport, no doors or top, with Dura Tracs on stock painted steel wheels would be the only way to go.
