I don't remember any whining. In fact, maybe it was the awesomeness of my 4Runner that subliminally got the wheels turning towards the switch. :notsure:

Hell, they don't even stay on the vehicle, let alone stop turning.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
The lack of ethanol is an automatic boost in performance. Not enough to make up for the price difference, but still a noticeable boost. The good thing around here is that Fleet Farm's mid grade is alcohol free. That's what I always fill with, my truck likes it.

Yup. No corn fuel is better. The only argument that can be made for it is in a turbo application, but even then I'd rather have real gas and not waste money supporting the farce of ethanol fuel.

A lot of people run E85 in N/A builds as well. A buddy of mine runs it in an LS swapped GMC Sonoma, and gets more power with it.

Ok, let me clarify that to turbo applications and tuned vehicles. For a stock rig there's no reason for corn in your tank. At least that is my understanding.

Yeah I’d rather leave it out. My Tundra has the engine for it but I’m not wanting to use it.

Overall, I agree that ethanol is a silly thing, altogether. I'd rather see farmland being used to grow food than crappy fuel.

However, I buy E15 about half of the time, and experience no difference in performance compared to E10. I've also run ethanol free a handful of times, and have never noticed a measurable difference in performance or fuel economy. Although, I could attribute this to not giving the ECU enough time to make adjustments.

I filled up with it on a TW trip this past fall, and initially thought it was making a difference, but ultimately realized that it was just due to the fact that I had a tailwind and was driving at around 60 mph, which is the 4Runner's sweet spot for fuel economy.

When I got my truck with 87k on the odo, it ran a bit rough under heavy acceleration. Gas was cheap at the time so I ran corn free premium for a few months. Eventually the roughness totally cleaned up and now it sounds great. I tried going back to 87 octane, but it didn’t idle as nice. Kwik Trip near me has E15 88 octane and it’s about 20 cents a gallon cheaper than the 87. I run that now because it’s cheap, higher octane and runs the same as the cornless 91 octane that costs a buck more per gallon. That being said, I absolutely despise the very concept of using prime cropland to make fuel. It’s yet another government sponsored grift and should be ended asap.

If you're buying the same grade (e.g. regular / 87 octane), the performance is going to be the same because it's all manufactured to the same specs. E10 is just going to generate more smog than E0 while simultaneously making the greens feel good about themselves.

It sounds like you're agreeing with what I said.

    But..

Doesn't this kind go against all of the people who claim to get better power or fuel economy with ethanol free gas?

No one claims better fuel economy from ethanol. It is less efficient. Proven fact. The extra power comes from a higher performance engine or tune to be more aggressive because the ethanol has a higher octane (knock resistance) rating. Anyone saying corn gets better MPG is full of crap.
