    Ok here's another question if anyone can answer. I have a 2.7 with a 5 speed manual. Looking at getting LCE headers to gain some power but I know I will have to regear. My factory ratio is 4.10 and I'm wanting to have close to factory power and rpms. Will 4.88 be a good ratio. Also what about throwing a Detroit locker in there when I'm regearing?

    mostly stock
    On nice days I ride my motorcycle, but the taco is my primary means of transportation. I just got the FJ80, and I've been using that for a fishing/hunting rig, mostly due to the bad gas mileage compared to the taco.

    Tire size should be you're determining factor for gears http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html If you're considering 37's being a pre runner you can go with 5.29's they do make them for the rear but they are not available for the front differential (last I checked) which you don't have so not an issue. You should definitely go with a locker so you don't wish you had done it after the fact, I'm a fan of selectable so not real familiar with the Detroit.

    Yes I was referring to 37's. And I only say Detroit because of price. After wheels, tires, lift and gears, I won't have ARB money. LSD is and option but that doesn't give you a true lock. Should I just wait longer and save more money to buy a good locker?
