Oh I’m already 2 steps ahead of you! Haha, I’m ordering a tundra rack today or next week & im not “against” spacers, I just would love to not need them because I’m already adding big ole 37’s to the rear hubs. If they’re needed I’ll run them & order a pit. I’m not at all worried about shock fade with these 14” short body 7100’s. They are great and I’m not a go fast type of guy anyway. My front end is gonna quit long before my rear 7100’s start to fade, I’ve still got 5100/OME coils up there

Oh yeah, those 5100s are going to suck start a 45 when you add 37s lol

Ehh, agree and disagree with you there. My 5100’s get the job done & have for quite some time. I don’t have a big budget and thus haven’t been able to put nice coilovers up front. I don’t drive the truck “fast” per se & i air down pretty aggressively even with my 35’s usually to 10psi. With the 37’s at 6-7psi I think the front end will feel pretty sweet. Either way the 5100’s aren’t going anywhere for a while

I don’t think my 5100’s are a GREAT shock for 37’s but I think with my driving style and slow wheeling style I’ll be fine for a while. Kills me to put money into nicer front suspension when I’d like to LT someday, I’d rather just wait

Going to 37s, upgrading the steering rack to handle them, buying beadlocks (regardless of price) really shows you arent on a budget. You just dont seem to value coilovers, which is ok. I ran old man emu with 35s for a long time (40k miles). And I can absolutely understand about not wanting to go mid travel if LT is the goal. For me, Im not interested in LT.

I super interested to see how long they last you though. What's the diameter of the rod end on the shock?

True good points, I guess what I’m saying is I’m very careful with where I put my money & I have no desire to justify $1200 for my front suspension. I’d love to do 6112’s as a middle ground or even somewhat indefinitely if I don’t do LT but may I remind you my beadlocks were on clearance, with the cheapest one barely $175 as a blemished wheel :D

I don’t have a clue, it’s ultra skinny. It’s just a 5100 shock & it’s what I got and it works, just gonna run it and beef up my steering and get a front bumper figured out oh and brakes. Just never ending

Even my rear end, I did ultra value, bamf towers with Bilstein shocks and even the towers and shocks together cost as much as some guys rear shocks alone. I’m. A budget minded guy, with careful selections :)

Interesting… my 2nd Gen has been an angel as I have proceeded to hack it up over the years. I purchased it at 136k miles one owner and have proceeded to make it as powerful as possible offroad. It’s fun

I want to say my ADS shocks with adjusters in the front were around 2k. The rear shocks were 1700 with adjusters (But they are 2.5s) and then my archive towers and bumps.

And about the drums, Im offroad once a week in the summer and fall. That probably has something to do with it

Will any amount of re-gearing get the truck back to a stock gas mileage?
