Here's what I'm thinking of doing to my truck... I'm a newbie when it comes to lifting.
    06 4 Door Tacoma 2WD
5100 Bilstein's all around set at 2.5 in front
    AAL in the rear
    17x8.5 Fuel Recoil rims with 265/70 BFG T/A K02s
Any pictures/suggestions? Wanting more for looks and daily driving, will take offroading to fish at times...
Sorry if this has already been posed?

Do you haul anything heavy in the back? If not then you could get away with just blocks in the back and that would help retain your factory ride.

Also... just something to think about.... ground clearance comes from larger tires, you can fit larger tires with a lift.... If you want ground clearance, you may not have to go all the way to the 2.5 mark to get the tires you want. If you just want the tire clearance/look then by all means lift away!

    5100s all around with 887 coils, rear AAL.... 265 70 17 KO2s

.. a block won't retain factory ride any more than an AAL will be great for heavy loads.

I would do Maxtrac 4inch lift spindles and Dakar leaf packs IMHO.

you can still add the Billies up front for a better ride than stock

A block will increase the already existing axle wrap.

I dont see the op looking for 4" of lift and since going with 5100s, i dont see the reason to drop the monies on dakars

Im just saying - I was nervous about going the full 4 inches too....But its really not that much lift. AND - you dont have to mess with UCA's or anything like that.

JUST MY OPINION - Carry on lol

Going to ride like shit with the Billies all the way on the top notch. With the spindles he could leave them all the way down and get his lift with a better ride quality.

I wouldn't set the 5100s to the top setting, best bet is to leave them set to 0" and get the right length coils for the lift height you want. Using the shocks to lift your truck will make it ride rough, extending them all the way will make for a crappy ride.

If hes looking for 2-2.5" and on the cheaper,

The proper ome or eibachs on 5100s set at "0" should get him around 2" if thats livable and not need ucas, and the rear id suggest a progresssive aal and 5100s.

Thats all gunna ride beter than preloaded stock coils, and a single aal, yet cost less than dakars, and not be 4" of lift... ive had a few knee surgeries, and i dont feel like fighting to get in my truck on cold days... .maybe the op is in same boat, the gf may be short, maybe he takes mom/pops out often and they dont wanna fight to get in and out.

I just tried to stay near the OPs desired ride height.

I didnt see him specify it. Just says what he was going to do. Im sure he is open to lifting a 2WD truck the way they were intended to.

I have 5100s all around with the fronts set at 2.5 and a progressive aal in the rear. I actually like the ride cause its a little stiffer than stock but its not anything that makes me uncomfortable. But i also have a light first gen with a 2.7l and im not sure how much of a difference it would make.
