Ok, so as some of you know, I rolled my truck a few months ago, and I'm still having problems with it. We didn't think anything was wrong with it mechanically, until I got some CEL codes a rough starts. Took it into the shop, and this is what the found/have done since then:

-Found engine oil everywhere, replaced MAFS, O2 sensor, air filter

-Was still getting CEL (P0171), so they took out the CAT converter and found oil, replaced with shitty aftermarket

-Keep getting CEL (P0171 still off and on today), they say they don't know why

-Recently, truck has been driving VERY sluggish. When I floor it from a dead stop, no peel-outs, very slow to accelerate. Takes me 27 seconds to get from 0-60 with it floored. Terrible throttle response. Bought a scanguage, when I have it floored the SC only reads 80% tps%. Took it in, they contacted a Toyota team, and they sounded very confident when they told me that I need a new Throttle Body ($1,200), insurance won't cover it.

So that is where I am now. I need your advice as to whether or not you think that is the problem, before I spend 1200 bucks on a new TB. I am willing to bring in a list of possible ideas from you guys to have them look at, even if they think I'm stupid. I'm spending a lot of money, they WILL make sure that is the problem.

I know this was a long read, but I really need some Tacoma advice. Please, I am desperate! (and poor!)

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
Ever considered buying a used throttle body off a member here or a junkyard for under $100?

    :spy:

If that works, then you just saved alot of money
If it doesnt, you just saved alot of money also instead of wasting it on a a part not needed and you can still re-sell one of the throttle bodies.

Ever tried cleaning the throttle body and rebuilding?

They replaced all that stuff because it was filled with engine oil from the accident.

If you buy a throttle Body new, dont buy it from a dealer. I was having throttle lag and was considering buying a throttle body. Googled Toyota discount parts and found several dealers with websites that sold OEM parts at discount prices. Found a throttle body for a 04 V6 for ~ $700. You could put it on your self. its not hard
