Reading about them other places, Just thought I'd check here in the Taco 4 cyl. section, as I have a 2.7 4 cyl. From what I'm finding on other forums, Ford Ranger, BMW, Jeep, Nissan Frontier, folks who try them like them & folks that haven't tried them don't like them. Any first hand info around here from folks that have or have tried them, Pos. or Neg. all is appreciated.

Have a PC on my 2011 4 cylinder (for about a year). I love it. The difference in throttle response is night and day.

Most of the people who don't like them haven't tried them, they just keep saying "mash the pedal more!"

OK, I Bought one, a Sprint Booster, & got it installed a few hrs. ago. One of the best things I've done to my little 2013 2.7, 4X4, auto., Taco. Drives like a totally different truck. I having trouble believing how much difference it's making. Love it.

Exactly. Everybody thinks they're a gimmick until they actually use one. I couldn't imagine not having one on my 4 banger. It's like a whole different truck.

I have had the 9drive on my truck for a couple months now and its great. It can also be found for 70$ or less. I did intake and exhaust too and all in all gained some performance and power back that i lost with my lift and tires. I recommend. I cant wait to put it in eco mode 4Lo and see how she crawls this summer.

Dang it, I was afraid of that, the cheaper ones do the same as the higher priced ones. I've seen the 9-drive $49 if ordered from China. Several other brands look exactly like 9-drive, the Eittar, Cammus, Wind Booster. If I ever buy another, I'll probably try a cheaper one but as happy as I am with the Sprint Booster it was well worth what I paid for it. Just for thought, I didn't really want a controller glued to my dash & with the Sprint Booster I can find & set the level I like then unplug the controller & wire & put it in the glove box & the thing stays where I set it. If I ever want to change the setting just plug it back in, change the setting then unplug it again.... It's still hard to imagine how much of a difference this thing has made, I've been disappointed since I bought this Taco 2 1/2 yrs ago, Finally enjoy driving again.

Do these Throttle Controllers also improve responsiveness with manual trans tacos?

Inquiring minds want to know :)

Yes, mine is a manual. Mine is on 1.7 setting, which is low on the controller, but gives it a noticeable nice boost in responsiveness. It goes way up from there to race mode.

Some have a switch to select Manual or auto. My Sprint Booster does but I never switched it to manual. Have read about some of the less expensive ones also have that switch.

Danny, I researched these things for a while, reading all I could about them, feared they were just another gimmick. Never found any info comparing the cheaper ones to the expensive ones & I was very very skeptical about all of them. Found the add from Sprint Booster that said, try for 30 days, return for any reason for full refund & that put me over the hump, figured the worst that could happen would be send it back. Now only regret I didn't do it sooner. Also I'm seeing on this thread the less expensive seem to work also. All Ya'll, Please let us know what brand you go with & how it works for you.

Are all the models for use with a manual. Can't see why it would make a difference. I gotta have the intermittent wipers too.

Hey Danny, What Throttle controller did you decide on? Some you select auto. or manual & some don't. Like you I can't imagine how it would matter. Good luck & let us know how it goes.

Yep, the Eittar looks exactly like the 9-Drive that Jeff, above, is using & seems to like. Congrats on your purchases....Now waiting for feedback, good or bad.

I currently have this one. It is pretty responsive and quick but you can sure see your fuel tank go down.

I like it a lot it has 5 modes. I usually keep it in in the 3rd switch which is 1 level below. very quick and makes my 4 cylinder feel like a 6. I can get to 0-60 a lot faster than stock but the. Again I have a lot of upgrades. You can see my full mod list by clicking on my name and seeing posts.

I'd have thought everything came with intermittent wipers, these days. Just glad it's an easy fix. I understand the sluggish throttle, it makes the Mfg's be able to show better MPG #'s, Glad we've got a reasonable fix for that also. Danny, probably want to read the instructions good. Mine said something about 20 min before starting the install, remove the key, If you have a key fob put it at least 50' away from the Taco leave the door open. Something about the computer programming itself. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with possibly getting codes if you don't.
