I have a Sprint Booster, a product similar to yours, and I backed mine off for similar reasons. I also turn mine off when I am using 4-wheel either high or low. These things can surprise you sometimes.

Just say'in. I installed my Sprint booster appx. 6 wks. ago, really enjoyed it when I first put it in. I figured after a little time went by the new would wear off & I wouldn't even notice it was there. That hasn't happened, I am enjoying driving it all the time now, nothing like the disappointment I felt every time I drove it before the booster was installed. The Sprint Booster has 18 settings, I've settled on "Sport 9" that is exactly the middle, above that it starts getting a little jerky. I Love this thing, & thanks again to all who helped me in deciding to try it

Looks like you caught my post before I deleted it.:anonymous: I realized after I posted that the title of this thread specifically asked about 2.7s and that you were the OP.

    Installed mine today :)
Will start with sport 9 mode, and go from there...

Since the coin tray is so easy to remove, I thought it would make for a nice mounting location.

Anyone else experiencing lunging w/throttle controllers?

Turned mine down to Sport 3.
Maybe I just need to get used to the sensitivity :D

I got a sprint booster. After using it for a couple months I removed it and I honestly cant tell much difference.

Rekon what happened?? Did it work when first installed & it just gradually stopped working or did it never make any difference? If it never worked, or you were not satisfied for any reason, they have a 30 day full refund warranty, no questions ask. If it's quit working it has a 3 yr. warranty for repairs or replacement. I've heard someone else say theirs quit on them after a while. So far, after 5 months, I'm still impressed with mine, turn it off every now & then just to be reminded how bad it is without it.

I think it does what it is supposed to do. I dont know, my truck just doesnt really seem to need it. I can tell a difference, just not sure it was worth what it cost me. Other people seem to enjoy it so maybe their truck benefitted from it more than mine idk. After I took it off I just left it off.

Tony, that is a very interesting point. I can see how easy it would for some to be quite a bit different, from the factory. My wife's 2010 Rav 4 has always been way more peppy than my Taco. I've always thought it was from her little 3.5 v-6. Since I've got this controller, my Taco feels a lot like her Rav4. All FBW throttles have an electronic controller, whether from the factory or aftermarket like the one I installed. I've been thinking, if my factory controller had been set up like hers, there very possibly could have been a lot LESS difference in how they feel. Sorry yours didn't work out. You may want to advertise it here on TW for sale, there's been some listed on here before & they didn't last long.

I understand the cost/benefit. I like mine (Sprint Booster) which I have had for quite a while, but it seems rather costly for what it does. Having said that it is a purchase that I would make again. I add that to the Sumo Springs I got and would do again.

Holy cow, y’all weren’t kidding about these things! I put a Pedal Commander on my ‘14 today, and it woke that little 4-banger up! Best money I’ve spent on the truck in a long time.
