Purchased my truck with 60,000 miles and it already had the throwout bearing noise, I drove it for 10k miles before my clutch went out (maybe wasnt the best idea but i need it to get to work) however when inspecting my old clutch, the clutch itself was fine (maybe had another 10-15k left) the problem was 1/2 of the fingers on the pressure plate were worn down pretty bad a few were even bent. The mechanic i brought the truck to installed a luk kit, would have preferred aisin but none were in stock on island. Sure enough right away the throwout bearing was making noise. The noise is noticeable when my truck is cold, and seems to get louder once warmed up. i can hear it chirp in neutral, in gear and seems to get louder at the top of my pedal when i shift or just press it in which didnt happen with the factory clutch. So now i have a brand new clutch, with a squeaky tob...

My question now is do i just need a new throwout bearing? or is something else damaged to the point where any new bearing will still make noise?.
Ive read about both the urd kits and the clutchmasters kit for fixing the issues and have seen mixed reviews for both, Anyone have long term success with either kit? Are there any better options? Is it safe for the truck/trans to continue to drive with this noise? Id think not with how unhealthy it sounds :/

I would like to fix this asap but do not want to waste my money on something thats gonna fail after a few miles. Sorry for the essay but this is driving me crazy already

OP, sorry to hear of your ordeal. Sounds like you were victim of the chronic LUK clutch problem that have plagued so many until ToyMoCo finally dumped them as a supplier in 2012.

If this were mine at this point I would opt for the least expensive option possible. A member posted a mod in early 2013 that seems to have been going a long time for him. I sent him a PM awhile back and it was still working good after about 6+ years. So what have you got to lose?

Here is that thread by member hiadun addressing his modification. This could possibly be a DIY for someone with moderate skills.

Note. Please read the entire thread but especially note his Post #101 on Page 6.

I removed my inspection plate yesterday to see what goes on in the bell housing and saw that there was some drag on the shaft the tob slides on when the clutch was released, im guessing this isnt normal right? Does this mean my quill is too far gone and i need the urd sleeve if i ever want to get rid of the squeak? Strangely after pushing on the release fork toward the slave cylinder for a bit with the truck off the squeak stopped for maybe 20 miles for returning but was idling fine with no squeak, it usually squeaks from the second i turn it on and gets louder as it warms up so this was weird however i have no explanation. I have some videos i’ll upload once i figure out how to do so
I was planning on swapping out my master and slave cylinder for the tsb parts next but am unsure now
edit- after looking at it again, i have a brown slave cylinder does this mean it already has the upgraded sc?

Has anyone fixed this problem permanently or will that noise come back no matter what?

ClutchMasters Hydraulic Throwout Bearing Kit is worth it. I changed mine in May and have not had one issue, since.
